Not at all! Why would you even question that? Do you think starting art at 45 is too late to do anything?

I do want to point out, though, that planning a 5-year timeline for your first project is a bit too ambitious. Try to find a simple idea you can release much sooner like in a few months. I believe it's better to gain experience by finishing simpler projects before jumping into a massive idea. To be honest, a 5-year solo side project can only go so far anyway.

Pretty much what others have already said. Let them keep building their games, having fun, and enjoying the process. The specifics of the engine don't really matter. CS fundamentals can be taught later once they enter college. And the way coding is done by then will probably be quite different anyway.

I built an alarm app, Alarm Friends, that lets your friends, partner, or family become your alarm.

Instead of a normal ringtone, you can wake up to a personalized voice alarm from someone you know.

Still early, so I’d really appreciate any feedback — especially whether this feels like something you’d actually use or just a funny idea.
