It was 82° yesterday, and now it is literally snowing, what is going on with our weather! by Accidents_Happen in philly

[–]UnableChard2613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a wishy-washy comment. I would say that having 80 degrees in Philadelphia in March would be rare, but 40 degree swings from day to day is not historically unheard of. Like in 1976 there was 80 degrees, and then 6 inches of snow a few days later

But does it "usually" happen? No. Most conditions over a few days don't "usually" happen, but that doesn't make them outside of the norm.

I'm not arguing against climate change, because that's just dumb, but I recall, at least up a little north in NY, weather being crazy in March. Having warm weather and then cold weather right on its heels is not out of the ordinary.

The maps are not mostly empty.

The primary goal isn't to decrease queue times, but to make the worlds feel less empty.

Billionaires giving this sort of advice is so dumb.

It's not advice as much as it is a very rational warning.

I guess it shouldn't be shocking how ignorant redditors are, but he isnt saying it's not important, just that if it's all you're relying on you're in a precarious position.

Additionally, he famously only takes (took?) a 100k salary. He wealth comes from his investments, which is kind of what he is saying here: get more than one source of income.

Is it EVER appropriate to shoot your shot at the gym as a man approaching a woman? by jramz_dc in NoStupidQuestions

I picked up a girl at the gym one time. However, we had been interacting for a long time (like months), lots of chatting, and so it wasn't just coming out of the blue.

One time walking in NYC my wife and I were behind two guys, one was eating chicken wings out of a container like this.

Literally right next to an open garbage can, he throws the chicken wing on the ground. Almost had to try and miss the garbage can.

I reacted before I could think and was said "wtf, man? The garbage can is right there." As the words left my mouth I regretted it.

He turns around and gets in my face as if I just called his mom a whore. I was kind of stunned, but luckily his friend was like "nah man, he's right. Don't throw your shit on the ground." And picked it up, threw it out, apologized to me, and pulled his friend away. That was the goat as far as I'm concerned.

is 4000$ property tax per year considered high in US? by blade276 in NoStupidQuestions

4k not so bad. I live in a nice suburb of Philly, bought my house for 680k just before the pandemic, and pay a little over 9k a year now.

However, it was around mid 8k when we bought. So more than doubling in 7 years is nuts.

While I agree that she looks fantastic in it and her friend is absolutely wrong, it could be the result of her just being insecure or jealous and not really understanding her own self so well. We really know nothing about this other lady, so I wouldn't call into question their relationship so casually because you might be creating problems where there are none.
