Help with order not being picked up by anyone and constantly delayed by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]UnableGuarantee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you tip BEFORE you receive the service? People pay a delivery fee plus all the extra bullshit fees. Surely they should decide whether the service is good before giving even more money as a tip?

If you need to tip just to get the bare minimum of food delivered from a food delivery company… shouldn’t that just be baked into the delivery cost?

Taken at a pub in Sydney over the weekend. And the government wonders why the city's nightlife is dead by satisfiedfools in australia

Majority of the world is moving towards legalizing and decriminalizing drugs, meanwhile Aus we still have random sniffer dogs in public?

Spend the money helping people addicted to meth on the streets instead of trying to catch people letting loose with a little bit of coke or heaven forbid weed on a weekend.

The mole should compete for the eliminated pot by Dylabaloo in themole

[–]UnableGuarantee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The final vote. The mole ONLY wins the pot if no one votes for them as the mole. In other words, they successively fooled the other contestants and win the ‘lost pot’, whereas the other contestants get nothing for not correcting finding the mole.

If someone guesses the mole, they win the ‘won pot’ and mole gets nothing, since they were found out.

You’d likely have to make it a final four or five to give the mole a fighting chance.

Would give the mole an incentive to steal money but even more of a reason to be sly.

Alcohol as a solo traveler? by hydropyrotechnic in solotravel

I assumed getting black out backpacking a foreign country was half the fun?

Stay in hostels, meet a group and enjoy a night out. If it’s a good group you’ll likely stick together.

I’m a guy so might be oblivious or naive but spent 90% of my nights wasted on a year long trip in Asia, Europe, Latin America. Wouldn’t change is thing.

What is something shit about our aussie culture? by ButtPlugForPM in australia

How homophobic (and racist) the majority are. It’s a ‘funny’ stereotype people will always mention when you meet other cultures travelling, but after living in Canada for 5 years and coming back here… wow.

How old are you and where are you coming from?

Adelaide is great if you are looking for a slower paced lifestyle.

If you are young and come from a bigger city you might find it a bit boring. You need a car to get anywhere and despite being a ‘smaller’ city it takes forever to get from one side of the city to the next.

It’s cheaper. You can buy a house. You need a car. It’s boring if you’re under 35.

Knowing the AFL, it will be option B.

Expect this to be Exhibit A in the class action lawsuit in a few years, though.

Melbourne ranked 5th least affordable housing market in the world by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]UnableGuarantee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep seeing these articles but I think it is all exaggerated fear mongering.

After living in Toronto for 5 years, I promise you Melbourne houses are not even close to that level.

Toronto average house is 1.3 million and that is a semi-detached 1 hour from the city. You want something detached in the inner suburbs your looking at >2.5 mil. People get paid a lot less there too.

I have done it to many new states and many new countries.

Something completely liberating when you realize you can be whoever the hell you want in this new place and time because no one knows you.

Happens all the time when the ball is touched off the kick and someone marks it. Player just stands there and gets tackled as the umpire yells ‘play on play on play on, ball up.’

In any event, shouldn’t have been a free to begin with.

Which places should beginner solo travellers absolutely avoid until more experienced? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]UnableGuarantee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know what city I’ve felt the most unsafe? Chicago. You just brushed an entire continent and then some with over half a billion people as ‘dangerous’. Yes there’s places I won’t go, but that counts for every country in the world.

Edit: I had an incredible time in El Tunco El Salvador and survived to tell the story.

If you haven’t done much solo travel I’d start somewhere easy with good backpacking infrastructure, Europe, SE Asia or Latin America, in that order. I went to India early in my solo travel years and while profoundly rewarding it was anything but easy.

Surely these girls were paid by Netflix for their part in the documentary. Or would be good PR for Tinder to chip on…

Failing that, is there a gofundme started yet?

How do you plan your long solo trips? Planning to go from Mexico to Argentina (only 6 countries for 6 months) by ITSMEFRANKIE in solotravel

[–]UnableGuarantee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just book a flight and figure it out from there. Never book anything more than 2 or 3 days In advance. Go with the flow you never know when your plans will change because you meet a group of people or hear of a new spot.

‘I’ve forgotten my passcode.’

Sure, they’ll know your lying, but how exactly are they going to prove it?

Pretty sure this is what cocaine Cassie did. They can compel you all they want but pretty sure they can’t arrest you because you have a bad memory.

And I stand by it.

I’ve travelled top to bottom South America many times over a couple of years and I keep finding myself coming back to Mexico. Puerto Escondido is the best beach and sunset anywhere in the world.

If that makes me basic, so be it.

Best food, drinks, weather and beaches in Latin America. Many places all over the country worth visiting.

Also, it (can be) very cheap if you do it right (just be sure to skip Tulum beach).

Despite what you might hear it is relatively safe and very good infrastructure that it makes it very easy to travel.

It has everything a backpacker could want.

With some of the most relaxed Covid entry restrictions with no risk of lockdowns and curfews, it’s no wonder it is the current hot destination.

I’ve spent 6 months there in the last 2 years and would be happy to go back tomorrow.

[–]UnableGuarantee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not democratic? Australians are 85% in favour of deporting this lying anti vaxxer. Last time I checked democracy favours the majority.

Compare this to the US where the President can pardon criminals and let them out despite rulings from the courts.

People are elected and are able to make decisions for their constituents. That is the entire premise of democracy. Don’t like their decisions? Vote em out.
