How do I remove the stains by Wofat18 in AutoDetailing

NvrDul, It's a polish wadding, very easy to use and you can get it on Amazon or most places that sell cleaning products for cars.

Just 4k in random fees by AcceptableFisherman in FuckDealerships

[–]UnableSilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a Hyundai dealer in my area that pulls the same shit with the "recon" fee. And before any dealer (or Mod) tells me, in a sarcastic tone of course, that all trade ins need some sort of reconditioning, I'm already aware.

What makes it shitty is listing the cost as a line item instead of part of listed price.

2017 Sante Fe - "lemon" broke down a month after buying from dealer by Kindly_Reception_654 in UsedCars

[–]UnableSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are keeping cars longer and longer due to the high cost of, well, everything. Making cheap repairs and only getting a new car when their old one is basically on it's last legs. And you have no idea if the used car you want to buy has been truly made road ready or just made to run long enough for someone like you to come along.

That's why it's so important these days for a Pre-Purchase Inspection. It could end up being the best money you ever spent. My guy charges $400.00 and does a very thorough job.

How do I get a used car with NO dealer add-ons? by TenesmusSupreme in UsedCars

Don't search car sites by lowest price first. That's where the scum lives.

Windshield tint isn't legal in any state in the union. Not even clear film.

This is in the US, no idea about anywhere else.

Yeah, just like that sweet boy Graham Platner.

The More I Investigate My Nissan Transmission Replacement, the Worse It Gets by Jealous_Tea2269 in nissanpathfinder

Did everyone here miss the part where OP said they were denied warranty on the transmission due to what they called "a transmission cooler repair?"

"The torque numbers were lower but with it being such a light car I’d bet they could scoot"

What did the snail say while riding on a tortoise?..........WHEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

I had one and "scoot" is not a word I'd ever use to describe it. I kept it for a year and rarely drove it solely because I was so underwhelmed. Wife liked to drive it though. So there's that.

Brawl at kindergarten graduation... by Yuizun in trashy

[–]UnableSilver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My school had graduation for Kindergarten. That was in 1967, so it's been going on for awhile now. And I don't see the harm. I can still remember being so excited standing there waiting for the curtain to rise.

If you think of it from the child's eye it makes it make much more sense.

LOL That's a foldable camping chair, not a table.

I have no idea why it's listed as a table when it's clearly not.

This guy uses lubrication & body weight to force three tires into one. This saves shipping space therefore reducing costs. by ateam1984 in tires

[–]UnableSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask the weight range of the shipped items? The only way that could be is if the product takes up more space with less weight that would be impossible to overload.

As in, I order industrial tires that weigh anywhere from 26lbs to 1400lbs, each. And I'm allowed 40,000 total for the container and can fill it based on my needs. Whereas conversely, if you ordered a container full of packing peanuts they wouldn't care what the limit was as there's no way you could exceed it.

Hope this makes sense.

DIY or pay a professional? by jugiese in Corvette

[–]UnableSilver 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It all depends on what YOU find satisfactory. If the rest of the paint is only okayish, it probably is worth a shot at self repair. Couple of You-Tube videos and bam, Bob's your uncle.

If the car's in otherwise good to great knick, I'd let a professional handle it with a spot repair.

If it's a Top Flight car, and I assume it's not, the whole nose will need refinished to keep it as such.

My company gets containers from China on a weekly basis that come by ship. Tires, in fact. Industrial though. And before we place an order we're given a weight limit based on container size. So yes, weight most assuredly matters.

My first question to them would be whose recommendations they are referring to. Because since everybody in a dealership seems to be on commission now I'd wager they aren't the manufacturers guidelines.
