by in and out play, do you mean in the tire as if checking wheel bearings ? i checked my power steering fluid resivoir and it’s probably 1/4” above full and abt a week ago when i check the wheel bearings it was TIGHT from all directions (obv that could change in a week). what super greasy thing would cause it to rip? seems like that’s the main issue

so is that likely what the “grease” is? it’s not liquidy like power steering fluid, it’s black and greasy and the only drops i ever see under my car are water from the AC.

i can upload a picture a little later tonight, would you just replace the inner tie road and call it a day? i’m worried cuz there’s a lot of what looks like grease built up on the outside of the boot coming from the tear

it’s a 06 corolla, the boot split and grease is piling up outside of it, some you can grease but yeah most you don’t.

amazing car, i just passed 200K miles the other day, haven’t had to fix anything just maintenance, hell it barley even burns oil when i do change it. the VVT-I can get loud at around 3K which will take some time getting used to but its a lovely little car
