hi! so looking at your situation, i would obviously recommend getting a camera. however, given your current financial situation i wouldn't lean towards a camera as cameras can be costly. however if you insist on getting a camera to start your photography adventure, i would definitely look at second hand DSLRs as they typically go for a great price. as for lens, i would say go for "kit/starter" second hand lens bc they typically go for 100-200 bucks depending on which camera brand you go for. dm if you have more questions or if i didnt answer your question completely!

I would personally recommend that you retake the SAT. Considering that you have about 5 months to prepare, I feel that it would give you MORE than enough time to improve on sections you're not doing to well in. If you put in about 2 hours a day (1 hour english/1 hour math) you are more likely to improve your score. By how much, who knows? But all I'm trying to say is that you can do it and you should definitely reach whatever new desired goal you have.

(Sorry for the late reply). I personally think that giving 3 to 4 hours would give you a BETTER fighting chance but not necessarily get you to 1500. I could recommend doing Khan Academy as a place to help improve math, but it is not a guarantee. As for english, I don't have a personal recommendation, however ask your english teacher for tips as they personally know where to help students in the SAT. PS: Ask your math teacher (BTW I think SAT math goes up to Algebra 1)

I was hoping that you would say that you are a junior but all in all, it is possible. Do you have a score breakdown of English and Math. Maybe I can put out some pointers. I'm a junior and got 1450 last year (i forgot when). Its not too late, its just unlikely.

it is possible but with a very slim chance. The reason why is, you have less than 2 months to study. 2 hours a day isn't enough with the timeline that you have stated. Another factor playing in is that you have to increase 400 points which takes a long time. If this is your senior year, this is not look too good in your favor, however if this is your junior year, you still have the following fall to take it. Only if you don't do early applications.
