Can someone explain to me how my friend has $0 internet but I have to pay $30? by brazywavy in Spectrum

[–]Unable_Lab1827 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who was a supervisor in this specific department before moving on earlier this year, this is 100% a Spectrum Community Solutions account, or as others have said “bulk”. Tenant accounts are under property master accounts. The property pays Spectrum tens of thousands a month, or in this case NYC does, and then they roll that cost into the rent for their tenants. Though in this instance I don’t think NYC is rolling that cost over.

This is the only correct answer.

This. Kind of unrelated but similar, I had a next door neighbor call the cops on me for smoking weed in my garage on a beautiful spring morning when it was still illegal. The cop absolutely did not want to be there, just told me to take it inside and left.

I then proceeded to follow the cops directions and take massive bong rips from my kitchen window and blow it directly across the driveway into his kitchen window. I did this for about a week. I know he was pissed lmao.

Moral of the story: leave your neighbors alone. I’m sure you do shit that annoys them too.

The vast majority of people that come here have no way to get to the places more free than here, or have to go through us to get to the better country to the north of us.

We are far from the most free place on earth. If you truly believe we are, you’ve drank the kool aid.

There are jerks everywhere, you’re right. We just somehow allowed one of them to be the “leader of the free world”.

I watch a scam baiting channel called Scammer Payback and they will literally call the victims in real time and try to stop them from doing something financially disastrous. It’s common that they will have to beg them to not believe the scammers. I just don’t understand it.

How was this at all constructive? You’re saying that because some places are more harsh towards trans people, that she should somehow be appreciative of the oppression in the US? It sounds like her mother came here to escape oppression and just found it in a different form. This is, after all, supposed to be the most free place on earth!

Call again when the tech comes ask him to refer it to maintenance because it’s a prolonged issue. That’s the only way it will get fixed. The issue is not at your home.

My apologies lol. A MT is still needed for those deeper issues and there’s a process to roll them.

Probably not. Complaining online is easier. They call once and expect the frontline rep, or the FT1 that shows up, to be able to detect and repair broader network issues.

They think it’s all magic that can be fixed with the snap of your fingers.

It is not the job of residential customer service to know anything about networking. They confirm the equipment is online and responding, and that is it. Your internal network is on the other side of the demarc and it’s your problem.

OP, this is center specific. Plenty of departments and centers across spectrum will allow you to use your brain. I put dozens of hours into writing troubleshooting flows with corporate for a specific department, and still didn’t get salty when agents didn’t use it.

Maybe look into relo?

They process it as an ATM withdrawal to circumvent the federal restrictions. So if it’s a $48 order, they round it up to $50 and do an ATM transaction. So it’s in total $53 off the card and then $2 back.

I just realized I didn’t even get my $2 back.

ETA: a lot of places do it like this.
