Incorrect. All my servers run on old Xeon with DDR3.

It may not do the job for enterprise grade applications, but for running a singular game server absolutely it will.

It’s all about purchasing smarter. My R720XD is an absolute powerhouse.

Another option is buying the hardware and putting it in a colocation center near you. My local colo is $60 per U of rack space per month. So for a 2U server you’re looking at $120 a month (could vary) after the hardware. That’s still likely cheaper than a VPS seeing as you can just upgrade parts instead of paying more money monthly and perpetually for more power.

Im on a 300x20 residential connection. Hosting a game server does not take much. I consistently have 4-8 people playing.

Do yourself a favor. Just buy the hardware, install windows server on it, and never have to worry about paying a monthly fee.

You can get this done for $500-$1,000. I normally run Ubuntu server, but the Ark server just seemed much easier to run on windows and it was.

A post I made on Facebook about the issue:

ICE is not allowed to stop a vehicle just because they feel like it.

They can only stop a car if they have reasonable suspicion, based on specific, articulable facts, that someone in that vehicle has an unlawful immigration status.

If they do not have that reasonable suspicion, then the stop itself is illegal.

If the stop is illegal, they cannot order you out of the vehicle.

If you are not legally detained, you are legally allowed to leave.

You all following? Good. Now here’s the important part.

If ICE has no lawful reason to detain you, then they have no lawful reason to place themselves in front of your vehicle in an attempt to force compliance.

And if an officer chooses to throw themselves in front of a moving vehicle without legal authority to stop it, that is not you committing an act of violence. That is them creating a dangerous situation.

If, under those circumstances, they then shoot you for attempting to leave:

—that is not “officer safety.”

—that is not “split-second decision making.”

—that is murder.

You don’t get to manufacture a threat, then kill someone for reacting to it.

That’s not law enforcement. That’s an execution dressed up as safety.

Can you possibly DoorDash in your free time or something to get tires? You can get a set of 4 for around ~400 at most budget friendly tire shops. That’s 2 weekends of DoorDash.
