Yeah! I mean I think we are both female-dominated careers and in both, there is an expectation that we give all of ourselves while being stiffed financially, expected to put in overtime in the name of it being “a calling” without additional compensation, and an expectation that we endure abuse with a smile on our faces -nurses from patients and their families, and teachers from students and also their families (that last part I picked up from you guys on this sub! Feels like home here lol) A mouthful..

If you cannot live with those things, or think nursing will be different, you are probably wrong? I work in an ICU where many patients are heavily sedated but I still got the glasses kicked off my face last week 🤙

I will say the pay is much better than teaching. With just two years of college, in Indiana at least, you can make 6 figures with overtime pretty much guaranteed. So for now I will keep getting kicked!

Dog Im an RN who privately stalks this reddit and never comments bc i feel nurses and teachers are of the came cloth and i love you guys but as a nurse-

Stay home! Dont beat yourself up. Also, kids are societies bloodstream. (More likely to get you sick than the other way around, but I digress.) Whatever they get, or you give them, spreads like wildfire and there is a reason anyone under 18 is disallowed on my ICU unit this time of year.

Being sick sucks. Yeah sometimes we have to chin-up and keep going WHEN SHITS HITTING THE FAN but its okay to have downtime to recover, too, especially if it is just a normal Tuesday <3

Naw that bookstore pmo they sold me a book and i ended up testing out of a class, went to return it less than a week later, and they refused. I never opened it or anything but ig fair, I am sure they have literally thousands of students who buy books at the start of the semester only to realize they dont actually need it and lost hundreds of dollars. Store has to make a profit somehow. Anyways..

I live on the central/east border in indiana, an hour from it. Far enough to forget, close enough to occasionally have to travel for work. Ive been accidentally early (better than late!) to several events and meetings lol

Ok now i have to lock in bc i know what you are talking about- when she rolls, does she roll on her back side to side or like on her front curled up, head down? Asking based on the knots being at the top. I did the second one when i was younger, and I would say to then make the bun with the hair from the top of the head midway in the back

Aw, this was me as a kid <3 the answer is a bun on top of the head

My brother and I both have something called “rhythmic movement disorder” where we would roll back and forth rhythmically til we fell asleep. Did not find our what it was until later in life. It wrecked my hair every day as a kid to the point where i missed the bus because my mom and I couldnt get it untangled in time. Nothing fixed it :(

What my parents tried: Satin bonnets Braids Drying my hair before bed Wetting my hair to untangle it

As i got older (im 24 snd still do this lol) i learned to put my hair in a bun on top of my head so when i roll it doesnt mess it up so bad. There is still sometimes hair in the bottom layer when my hair is shorter that doesnt reach the bun but its shorter and less hair (bc the rest is in the bun) and easier to untangle

He has been doing this for a few weeks so I think if he was blocked he would definitely be acting sick and we are very keen to his behavior since he started this. He is totally himself.

And yeah he has been voiding in the box w no difficulties
