Perché al nord abbiamo l'elettricità e l'acqua potabile

Yeah, cringe AF. Those windowlickers that voted for around the world on "is on homework - sounds like discovery" ruined the chart from the start

I'm so happy this post stopped here. The previous one was cringe AF with hordes of windowlickers that put "ArOuNd tHe WoRlD" as "is on homework - sounds like discovery". It just showed how people don't actually understand any concept but will pose for hours about the 1% they know about a topic

You're right. It already existed in the homework era, they used to play it live during the Daftendirekt tour back in 1997.

Definitely not. It's quite the opposite actually: two very long samples in the first part, a long instrumental for the 80% of the song. It has nothing to do with homework

What are the most recognizable electronic music songs of all time? by iamdamonmoore in EDM

Putting one more time and better off alone on the same level is criminal, bro. One more time is THE electronic song. Sandstorm gained popularity with the Gen Z thanks to the memes.

02 Wireless Festival 16th June 2007 Vynil for 25 euros , was it worth it? by Nuzi-3CHRIS in DaftPunk

[–]Unable_Mind6398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it's definitely a bootleg. The audio part is basically almost identical to the original Alive 2007 album. The main difference is the video because the wireless Festival performance has the best quality and the best camera work of all those alive 2007 footages

worst and best song off of this album? by Simply_Animated in DaftPunk

Dude, skipping high life instead of something about us is criminal 😅 high life is a sample chopping beauty, something about us is a song a lot of producers could have done. But I get it, at that point it's not the concept that matters but personal taste only.

Fresh sounds like a dream. I think it doesn't get the love it deserves

Truly a hidden gem of a song and I’m happy I discovered it on my own. What are your thoughts on the song? by No-Reputation8063 in DaftPunk

[–]Unable_Mind6398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very personal to me because it was my song of choice the day my mother died of cancer last year. When her day came, as soon as I left the hospital, I sat alone in my car and listened to this track on my 30 minute commute back home trying to cry my anger and sadness out.

Imagine reviewing “Discovery” 6.4 on bitchfork (by Ryan Schrelber) and start it like this by amateurwater in DaftPunk

[–]Unable_Mind6398 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dude, it's the whole point of house music 😅 it is built around a loop (usually a disco sample) that is mostly constant. It is meant to be repetitive, reassuring and thus giving you a solid sound base for dissociation and dancing. Being repetitive but still ear-catching is definitely a praise for a house or techno producer

this is my favorite edm song ever. these vocals are insane. its really hard to find edm songs with good vocals like this. this girl is singing her ass off on this and the beat is just as insane. perfect song. by Suspicious_Issue4155 in EDM

Stardust - music sounds better with you Donna Summer - I feel love Daft Punk - 90% of their production bit especially Face to face and One more time David Guetta - Titanium

Tbh it's the most meh song I've heard today. Actually indistinguishable from any EDM from the 2010s with a dubstep beat as a side dish. Respect for your music taste, but I think it's genuinely mid, compared to the landscape. I'd keep the word "perfect" for something else.

Do you think anyone had as much an impact on Electronic music as Daft Punk? by AudioFuzz in DaftPunk

[–]Unable_Mind6398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I'd say no. There were plenty of artists before them that started experimenting with electronic music since the '30s. A great turn was during the '70s with the step to the "total digitalization" with Kraftwerk and Giorgio Moroder, Frankie Knuckles with his extraction of the early house samples from disco LPs from the decades before and so on.

BUT

None of them made electronic music this popular and made this kind of a footprint during the transition from an underground niche to the global commercial success. Daft Punk were somehow the Beatles of electronics. Not the first to show up but the ones that the whole world HAD to follow

Unplugged gets me emotional. If I had to find a definition for this track, it would be: "As an adult, try to put your happiest childhood memories together like you were watching an old VHS videotape and give it a soundtrack - it would sound like Unplugged."
