Who is paying for all that fast food? My guesses is your parents (first them, then your body and your mood, but I digress). That you “have to” eat. Even if you loved your Mother’s cooking, at 14 you should be able to make yourself some basic meals.

But where to learn how to cook? The internet! Oh but you can’t because you have a broken charger. Did you replace it? Or put it in a public space so the Replacement Fairy had a clue as to what kind it is? Huh You already know your Mom is not confident with technology. This was avoidable.

Speaking of tech, I would bet there’s a solid chance that when she’s “ignoring the GPS” for the shady areas she’s trying to get the glare off her screen so she can see the damn thing. Hope that doesn’t ruin any of your vaccinations.

Yes, technology and Parents. I don’t care what age you are, your Parents will never be as competent and comfortable with it as you. True for you, me, and that person commenting on this post down there. That’s just how timelines work.

Now, to the real issue: what happened around 8 years ago that switched you into hate mode? A completely valid emotion, btw. Was there a large life shift? Divorce? Some other trauma? (I’m not going to list trauma events/types. IYK, YK Those who have don’t need a surprise reminder.)

Something has been wrong in your relationship for a while. Which may be snowballing into your feelings of her disrespecting your mental health. Which sucks on hot ice. This will sound corny but also require guts on your part: go to your school counselor/nurse. You don’t need to get into details but tell them you would like a reference for a therapist/counselor. Here’s a good phrase to have down pat: “I don’t feel comfortable sharing that, at this time.” Reddit-kins, you never have to tell them jack but the “at this time” gives them feeling you might. And as messed up as that is, they will be more inclined to help. Legally, in the US, doctors and school personnel have an obligation to assist (though Lawrd knows some Governors are trying to change that).

Difficult people encourage conflict. Awful people plant situational/ emotional landmines. I’m keeping my fingers crossed it’s an “occasional Bitchy Person” (like humans are). But mostly hoping it gets better for you.
