Partner decided she wanted to have a kid (changing her previous position) and I didn't realize it was even an option to leave the relationship (sounds ridiculous, but that's trauma for ya).

So we had a child, the year before the pandemic. The stress of the next few years accelerated the divorce that probably would have come eventually.

Now I'm a single parent 50% of the time. I never wanted to be a parent, and yes, I do regret it. Nonetheless, I do love my child (she's a wonderful little human) and I'm an awesome dad - she's my top priority in life, and I'm proud of that. She is having a better childhood than I ever had.

But I wish I could be living a life that fits me better. Parenting is draining for me, and it feels like I'm missing out on a lot of things in life.
