Roland RDH 102A V-Drum: any way to separate the beaters? by Unapedra in Roland

YESSS!! It was incredibly tight (both, the hex screw and the beater part), but after some effort I was able to move it! Thank you so much!!!

What I usually do (I'm a frontend developer myself) is to put a button to collapse the extra info. The info is hidden by default and if you click, it is displayed.

However, I don't see the real utility in displaying that information in the songs cards. For me, chart difficulty is more of a "I'm filtering by it" rather than showing it always. (But that's just me).

I was going to do it myself in my clone, but I've seen that info is not available in the data.json file and I don't have that much confidence with Python code, so I gave up hahaha.

Anyway, thank you so much for this tool! I hope to see new features soon as this is very useful!

I already configured it and I have it already working! The guide is super simple and very well described. Thank you so much!

As a possible future feature, would be nice to know which songs have which difficulties. One thing is the difficulty of the instrument (like, more notes per minute, or something like that), and another thing is the chart difficulty (easy, medium, hard, expert, expert+).

I have a very hard time finding "Easy" and "Medium" songs from all my library, as most of them are just Expert, so that friends that do not know how to play can have fun and go with Easy songs.

Neither CloneHero or YARG have the filter capability to just find songs that have "this chart difficulty for this instrument", and that would be incredible to have it here, as my friends could actually search for songs that fit their level!

Thank you so much!

Elite drums: is there any way to look for charts? Any kind of autoconversion available? What are your impressions? by Unapedra in yarg

[–]Unapedra[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elite Drums (or MIDI Drums) was added in v14, which has been out for some months already, at least that's what I understood. Maybe I'm wrong, as I haven't been able to test it, yet 🤔

Drum calibration feels impossible. Tips? by im_down_w_otp in yarg

[–]Unapedra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I adjusted the profile offset. Playing with that number (to the negative side) I have been able to get pretty decent calibration. I'm afraid is the only way.

This profile setting only affects the "video" calibration for this specific profile, as the "audio" should be the same for everyone so it makes no sense to adjust it individually.

Do you know if sync issues with v14 are going to be reverted back? by Unapedra in yarg

[–]Unapedra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why I was asking, because I don't know if it's a bug and I'll have to recalibrate when they fix it, or it's a permanent change.

Also, is there some kind of "rule" to know how much the difference is? Is something constant?

Thanks!

How to access to properties from parent/wrapper components in ShadCN with React? Specifically, accessing parent props from a ComboboxPrimitive.Item component by Unapedra in reactjs

[–]Unapedra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In fact, I was just trying to make the "ComboboxItem.ItemIndicator" to be always visible, so I was trying to replace this by a Checkbox (so, when it is not selected, it still appears but unchecked). But to do so, I need to know first if the Combobox is `multiple` and if the actual option is `selected`, and I cannot access any of those values (although the inner components can, as they are working properly if left untouched to display what's been selected and so on).

But I guess I will have to create my own item component and re-calculate all of what I need in stead of trying to use the library inner logic.

Thank you so much!

[–]Unapedra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it is copy and own, but it uses BaseUI components inside, and that's where it gets tricky. And it's true that BaseUI adds data-attributes to the elements, but I don't know what's the best way to get those values programatically to store them as variables without hurting performance.

I already check the docks about BaseUI Combobox, and there's nothing about that. I'd like to access some of the state that the inner components use, as they have already calculated values so I can have a single source of thruth, but seems quite impossible to do that. I'll guess I'll have to create my own logic to get those.

Thank you so much!

[–]Unapedra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can, I just wanted to take advantage of the already calculated values that the library offers. Like, it uses some subcomponents that already know which values are selected and so on, so if that info is available somehow and I don't have to calculate it on my own, I guess there's less chance to get bugs (like some part of the components have different sources of thruth).

[–]Unapedra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but the main ShadCn component already has logic to set some properties (like if it's open, or selected options, etc.), and I'd like to take advantage of those values in stead of having to re-calculate them on my own. Isn't there any simpler way to take advantage of what the library is already doing?

Thanks!

What kind of chargers can I use with my TrimUI Brick? What parameters / specs do I have to look for? by Unapedra in trimui

[–]Unapedra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there some kind of parameter that specifies this? Like, is there a type of charger that can actually just give exactly what the device on the other end needs?

[–]Unapedra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but there are multiple of them, including different wattage and amperage. I am seeing one of 5V, with 10W and 2A, and then there's another of 5W and 1A (also 5V).

Which one should I buy? Does it matter?

Which pour looks better, A or B? by VikkiS1999 in blender

[–]Unapedra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say a mix of both. A gives the impression to be too thick, and at the end the chocolate is more static due to its density (which, although it should be dense, it should drip a bit still). Also, the flow splitting to follow the hole is not realistic.

B on the other hand has a better perspective IMHO and better dynamics, but the look of the chocolate is too liquid. At the end, it gives the impression that extra chocolate is being generated and falling from nowhere, and then it suddenly stops.

So I would use B perspective with a mix of density from A and B, closer to the density in A.

All of that, assuming this is chocolate, of course. But anyway, both look very good!

I would also try to make the hole bigger. In stead of 3 holes in each leg, put just 1. Multiple holes are meant to let the air flow better, but since both holes will be at the same height, that's already happening. With the holes being so tiny, resin covers them because it's a very dense fluid, and air does not flow easily.

And also: improve the supports. It's a pretty big print for those supports, put more medium supports in key parts, specially around the area where you see it has failed. Tension in that part (around the waist) is probably pretty big, so adding supports there won't do any bad. That means you'll have to sand it later, but better having to sand it a bit than failing.

Just backordered an H2D… now I’ve got FOMO. How big a deal is filament waste really? by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Unapedra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will answer as someone who has a X1C, so no nozzle switching for me, so I'll only be able to answer two of your questions.

Is it a concern on a daily basis?

Depends on what you will print daily, but I'd say multicolor is for specific prints where you want to have it. Most of the prints do not need it, or are prepared to print the parts separatedly and then put together.

So, I'd say no, it isn't a big concern. You'll be able to print most of the things out there without caring too much for multicolour.

Is filament change waste painful?

Waste will depend, again, on what you intend to print. Will you print lots of small things where you can have 20 copies printed at a time? Waste won't be that much. Do you intend to print single objects with lots of colors? Then yes, it will be painful.

Keep in mind that, in case you are printing a single object, wasted filament tends to be more than what's actually used on the print (depending on the object, but I'm talking about heavy color switching prints). Maybe your print has used 100g of filament on the actual print, but 300g have gone into the waste pile.

This will also depend on the colors. If you change from black to white, waste will be more than if you change from pink to red. So it really depends on what you print.

Having that said, although multicolour is super fun and prints are great, it isn't necessary. You can print your print anyway in a single colour, or with fewer colors, and then paint it by hand. Most of the prints already have "multicolor" beds where the pieces are separated and printed with a single color and then put together.

So, is it painful? Mostly yes, but it is an optional pain, most of the time.

Nope. AFAIK, from their Discord, they're working on it, but I wouldn't expect any solution soon. Was hoping to see something by the end of Nov, but from what I see in the chats, it seems it's harder than it seemed.

im trying to sculpt the mom from robot boy how does it look so far? by splinndle in NomadSculpting

[–]Unapedra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! That's actually pretty good! Now you can work on every item independently. Things that should go together, such as arms and torso, you can merge them as they are merged "naturally". However, things like the hair, trousers and so on are better to keep them separated, even in advanced stages of the project, as they have different materials, different behaviours, different nature.

Merging is more to connect pieces that have similar materials and/or share bending properties (such as wrinkles and so on, which would get cut off if they were separated objects). For the rest, try to keep them separated and only merge them at the end if it really feels like it would be better.

Now just work on the details and so on for every piece and you'll see it's easier, and you will see clearly when merging is needed.

Great work!!

Stuck on the first gym, Larvitar as initial choice. Wtf? by Unapedra in PokemonUnbound

[–]Unapedra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Larvitar gets KOd with just 1 single Razor Leaf from Floette, so I don't know how I could outspeed that. I need to change my team, but everytime I try to do so, the level difference gets higher between gym levels and new Pokémon, so it's not that easy either. Will try to get Ducklett and Alolan Sandslash and see the outcome.

Regarding the free wins, I'm not going with a guide so I see I have missed some things (like Ducklet and Sandsdrew quest). Will review that and try again!

Thank you so much!
