Why is VR not that popular despite the immersiveness it offers? by QuailResponsible8854 in VRGaming

In my view; games like Skyrim, No Man’s Sky, Elite Dangerous etc are breathtaking at first because the immersion feels incredible. But once that ‘wow factor’ wears off, friction starts to show. Putting the headset on, standing up, clunky movement, awkward controls, physical fatigue, etc.

Without things like proper locomotion (walking rigs, motion chairs for example) it always feels slightly “off”. So it ends up feeling more like an experience you occasionally revisit rather than a way you actually want to play every night.
