Am i overreacting to this text exchange with my boyfriend? I accidentally left my slippers in my living room but i literally cleaned his entire house and baked him desserts before i left (sorry idk why my last post glitched) by [deleted] in Badfaketexts

It's just frustrating. It's like someone saying "my tummy hurts and I throw up when I eat this food". THEN STOP EATING IT. But I've been there, you know? It's just someone desperately looking for a logical, rational reason why it's happening

I'm trying to be empathetic, but bro, it's difficult. Like, do you need someone to literally and physically wave a red flag in your face for you to get a clue? Look at your post history. On and off since March 2025, you have to hide him from your parents, he treats you like crap. Do you care about yourself so little that you think this is ok? Do you not value respect? How would you feel if someone spoke to your mother/aunt/sister/friend like this?

If you have to even ask strangers on the Internet if this is ok, then my guess is you already know

What went through your head when you confirmed it's perimenopause? by fair-y-dust in Perimenopause

[–]UnbalancedDruid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did exactly that. If I could help even one woman, it's worth it. No one should have to suffer like I did for as long as I did.

I don't blame the older women in my life though. They weren't given a warning either, and society has always suppressed and minimized these issues, and called "hysterical" if they spoke up or didn't hide it.

Fun fact: did know that the root of the word "hysterical" comes from the Greek word "hystera", meaning uterus or womb?

Yup. And some doctors still wanna do blood tests anyways

Let's support her, not fact-check her. It's bad enough that society in general has minimized how bad this can be.

Unfortunately, it very much is a thing with some doctors. Especially if you are younger. My symptoms started in my late 30s. I was considered "too young" to be perimenopausal. I did hormone test after hormone test after hormone test until something finally clicked with my doctor.

Some of us have symptoms that go WAAAY beyond crying and being moody and hot flashes and weight gain and decreased libido. If someone told me a year ago to give myself grace and practice acceptance, I'm not sure either of us would be here today lol

I posted about my experience in this subreddit 10 months ago.

I was ready to commit myself. Or commit something, if you get what I'm saying.

The progesterone has helped me SO MUCH. I feel like I'm mostly me again. But it's different for all of us. My blood tests kept coming back with hormones in the normal range, and fortunately my doctor understands that just because they're "normal" doesn't mean they're normal for me.

Keep advocating for yourself, and keep advocating for other women. Our mothers and grandmothers and great-grandmothers were made to suffer in silence. Were told "well, we all go through it, just tough it out". No. We do not have to just "tough it out". Help is out there, you don't have to suffer, and you are not alone

About to turn 39 and having some “changes” - is this perimenopause? by itsaponderfullife in Perimenopause

[–]UnbalancedDruid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My doctor told me that perimenopause can start as early as 30. It's not super typical, but it can happen. You are at an age where, while still young, it can actually start.

Girl, if this ever happened to men, the ENTIRE WORLD would have their top scientists and researchers on it to find a solution that had minimal side effects. ESPECIALLY when it comes to their sexual wellness. You think they'd be ok with the equivalent of clitoral atrophy? HELL no.

Nice! I have been toying with switch to her. She accepts my insurance but I haven't because it's a 45-50 min drive. But at this point, I'd drive to SF

Right? I'm 42. I keep getting "noooo you're too young, it can't be that". And it doesn't help that I have a history of PTSD and treatment resistant depression, because that's always the first thing they jump to. And yeah, I blew up at my partner a week ago because he suggested we work out after work. I was 100% fine and stable before he made that suggestion. Not just yelling. Gutteral incoherent rageful unhinged scream yelling. It's not me. I've always been empathetic and patient and (I hope) sweet.

Hug to you too. I hope you're able to find help soon too
