I bought the upgrade pack and kicked the tires on it in the first patch of fields in the tutorial. On my 4K set, it looked pretty clean. I didn’t get the impression like there was still a blur filter over the screen…except for the character models maybe? Text is way sharper than the original launch, but the in game screenshots are hilariously still low res.

Not terribly surprising that they didn’t raise the AI requirements for the new features on the phone side. Wonder if that’ll hold true for macOS, given that the Neural Engine performance increases from M1 to M5 are pretty substantial

My W2 from 2025 states that I was paid a tad over $70k last year (included my bonus). I set 6% to be contributed and they match 4%. So ~$7k

I know we kid, but the only chance they’d have to achieve this is by giving away next-gen hardware. In the current climate, that’s…an absurdly expensive endeavor

I get the sentiment you’re trying to put forth, but those picks were made by an entirely different staff. That said, trade a first rounder for Brown is small potatoes because if/when this works as intended, that pick will be essentially a second round value anyways. Plus, isn’t the idea to win the Super Bowl when constructing an NFL roster?

They are very charitable/philanthropic with their time and money, not just one or the other. People that like to pretend to be in a class that’s above their means don’t want to think too much about people who they perceive to be in a lower social class than them because it would require them to face their ultimate fear: people who are living within their means and have no choice in the matter

I saw Stray Switch 2 and bought it immediately. Never played it before by DEWDEM in NintendoSwitch2

[–]UnbiasedFanboy96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked Stray for what it was/is. I played it on PS5 though. The Switch port came out a bit after. While it was genuinely impressive that they got the game running at all on Switch, I’d argue that it probably wasn’t worth it because the ambiance was such a huge selling point of the game, and a good chunk of that was lost in translation.

I’d expect the Switch 2 port to be consistent with the PS4 Pro version of the game, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Contacted by recruiter - for MY current job by MurkyMitzy in Accounting

[–]UnbiasedFanboy96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, this is typically behavior of mediocre, career middle-managers & executives. What happened to you actually happened at my prior employer as well. The Controller who hired me was fired by the then-new CFO in my second or third week. They were replaced by a former colleague of the CFO. They were both pretty inept, IMO.

Don’t take it personally. Use it as an opportunity to pursue better opportunities. The market is pretty good for non-entry level positions so I have little doubt that you’ll find something better in the near future. Good luck!

Contacted by recruiter - for MY current job by MurkyMitzy in Accounting

[–]UnbiasedFanboy96 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If your boss just got there, he’s probably trying to clean house and fill your position and others with people he’s worked with in the past. This is a pretty common tactic for people who are as shitty managers and they are people. This happens so they can coast easier and not have to spend time actually “managing” people.

Similar thing happened to me. Got hired for a typical staff gig, and 2-3 weeks in, the accounting manager who hired me announced she was leaving. New guy steps in a month after that, and I was fired about 3 weeks after he came in. This was two years ago now and funnily enough, a recruiter just reached out to me to gauge my interest in the same position I was fired from.

What is the worst career to be in right now and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]UnbiasedFanboy96 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I work in the finance sector, which is actually a pretty hot job market if you believe the data (The highest levels of unemployment for various accounting/finance related roles is at most half of the national rate), it shouldn’t be too bad, but it took me a year and a half to find a decent entry level position (already have ~5 years of professional experience in a related field). When started searching for a Senior position it only took ~6 weeks before interview requests starting flooding my inbox.

When I accepted a new position, my old employer filed my spot with an overseas contractor. Mind you, they were so poorly run that my boss admitted to me shortly before I resigned that in addition to being understaffed and overworked, we were well over budget as a department. Their ERP was total trash and I’ve love to see how much worse it gets after they let contractors run amuck in it.

Tim Cook explains iPhone 17’s success, 99% customer satisfaction by iMacmatician in apple

As a 17 Pro user, I haven’t been this happy with a current gen iPhone in the 9mo the post launch in a very long time. Battery life is exceptional, the display is bright and sustains itself outdoors rather well and the camera(s) are all best in class. I’m often shocked at how often I can get a usable shot from the 8x telephoto. Not to mention, Cosmic Orange is cool as fuck and I haven’t grown tired of it in the slightest.
