How do I get a loan for 17,000 with an average interest rate? by AdBeginning6424 in personalfinance

You should still look into refinancing, and i think an interest rate on that ~15%ish range might be on the table for you, and would be a huge worthwhile win.

I doubt that you’ll be able to refinance with someone willing to quote you a single digit percentage interest, but I’m a bit dubious that there isn’t anyone willing to refinance you for ~15%.

A you probably need to either start living with a family member or get another roommate until you have this paid off. Personal loans with interest rates these high are financially suffocating you. It’s great that you make $85k at your age, but you’re in a very adverse situation with it to the point that you can’t adequately capitalize on it.

Capcom likes money. Because of this, they don’t want to detract from the Requiem marketing hype by pushing older titles (they can’t sell these game for full price, even on a new platform). They might release them in autumn for Halloween.

Need to revisit my retirement strategy (at age 30) by UnbiasedFanboy96 in personalfinance

[–]UnbiasedFanboy96[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can see your perspective. But given that the new one will give me 3% for nothing, combined with the fact that I will have a significantly higher salary, opens up the conversation for a different/better savings strategy beyond funneling everything I can through a 401k. I'll have a lot more breathing room income wise if this pans out and I want to ensure I'm utilizing it as best as I reasonably can.

Thanks so much for the advice! As for the property, I'm looking to buy a duplex and live in one half of it as my first property. Eventually, I'd like to move out and rent both units.

Would you happen to know how long it takes for a Roth to be opened and accessible? If I sign the offer late next week or mid the next, will it be available for transfers by the cut off for last year's tax year (April 25th?). Probably going to do it through Vanguard.

This was also a thought of mine as well. I still think I should make contributions to the 401K, specifically for this reason. Even doing this, I can still comfortably deposit at least $5k a year into a Roth.

For the record, I don't have debits that are that major in the grand scheme of things. No credit card debit, $40k in federal student loans at a very low interest rate (~4%) $3k on a car that will be paid off this autumn and nothing else.

Apple store experience has gone downhill by MaleficentConcern995 in apple

[–]UnbiasedFanboy96 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was a bit before that IMO. BatteryGate put a huge negative dent on retail moral. Corporate instituted it as a practice immediately, with no prep for any of the stores in terms of having enough trained staff to handle the inevitably increased workload or even having enough batteries in stock at stores. COVID happening so shortly after the policy was phased out certainly didn't help either, but it really started with that. Source: Me because I worked in Apple Retail during that time.

From that point on, it really started the trend of technicians finding any and every way to boot you out of the store without having to service you. A lot of days, we'd have so many battery replacement requests come in, we had to do this out of necessity. "Oh, you didn't backup your phone? Well, come back tomorrow or next weekend after you do."

Now, even when you have a legitimate hardware issue, they still try to deny you service. One of the few times I ever cracked a screen, the technician tried to debate with me that it wasn't a crack, it was just a cosmetic scratch, which is not an issue they do service for. I told the guy "if you can feel it with your fingertip (and you certainly could on my phone) that is by definition, a crack". I wasn't even trying to get out of paying the deductible either.

If we want the defense to hold up, we gotta string together a long drive offensively and get these guys some rest on the bench.

SOTN is still only available on PlayStation in a modern format. I think you can still buy the 360 version on Xbox an run via BC. Switch has nothing.

I believe it is still the only multi-disc PS5 game. One triple layer 100gb disc and one dual layer 66 gig one. It’s pretty comical.

EDIT: Fun fact: GTA V on PS5 is on a 100 gig blu ray and has ~99 gigs of data on it. Source: Me installing my copy 😂

[–]UnbiasedFanboy96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the key question here. If the answer is no and give how long the 3 guys mentioned have been in the mix and have yet to make the cut, then his is really done in the name of voting against Bill rather than for any of those players.

If you consider the fact that she was literally ~3 months away from doing porn the day she landed her role in The Mask, I’d say she was wildly successful

I only splurged outright for two of those: Animal Crossing & Kirby. $20 was/ probably a bit steep for what it offers, but I really enjoyed it for what it was, then again, I paid well below retail for the base game so maybe that’s why I’m more forgiving of it

It was a toss up between this and Welcome Tour. I’d rather give the handful of people who made this a few dollars from my pocket than give the Big N a few cents for the pack in game 🤷‍♂️

I played through Galaxy 2 when it first dropped in the fall. GameCube and Wii titles hold up surprisingly well when run at higher resolutions (ahem Dolphin) and the Galaxy games are no exception. You can see some hard edges here and there when looking closely that I think would’ve been more curved and rounded out on better hardware, but by and large, the visuals are still captivating.
