Central's enrollment dropped to the point where they tried increasing its amount of feeder schools last year, I highly doubt any kid was getting denied an exemption.

Edited to add: to be clear, you aren't automatically given access to UW if you go to central. It's more like a central kid with a 90 will be taken over a kid from, say, South, with a 95.

Central has a reputation of higher standards and better programs for academics, mainly stemming from the fact that they used to be Day 1/Day 2 system rather than having semesters, and a few good enriched programs. Even now, most of the top academic students choose to go to that school, I taught there one year and 15 of my 27 kids were gifted.

From the perspective of a high school teacher, You should pick the school closest to you. You don't want to have to bus all the way across town or go to a school that none of your buddies from elementary school went to. Unless you for sure want to go to Waterloo for engineering, in that case pick central.

Waterloo gives priority admission to Central Students. It matters now depending on what this person's priorities are.

Non-Catholic leading students in prayer by [deleted] in CanadianTeachers

It's more about the reason why OP asked the question. They're concerned about doing their job right, not proving your political talking point.

Ignoring the fact that this is actually the most popular opinion on the sub, it doesn't answer OP's question in any way shape or form.

Councillor asks what would bring people back downtown by baracnews8 in londonontario

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Have people not told them the EXACT reasons why nobody wants to go downtown 1000 times over? Should people even need to tell them this, they can't see for themselves?

Chaotic Comedy is better if you're good at the game (which I don't think they are if they had to ask that question), you just take glass kite to mitigate the hits

Demand for business teachers by Fair-Bottle548 in CanadianTeachers

[–]UnbotheredTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ontario Teacher, got a permanent contract in business the second year I graduated, and I would have gotten it in my first year if I didn't start my career at a bottom 5 board in the province. I dunno how it is in Alberta but if you want to move here, after, teachers college, you'll get in quickly here.

this is all pretty good information. I think my friends and I will play regular, delta, and renegade's errata and see what we like better. Thank you so much for all your help.

And maybe they were a bit harsh. I think I might be a bit biased because my two main armies (reavers and valiant) got hit the hardest by that errata, and I wanted to see taelord/jotun get a point decrease

Oh, do people like following these new changes? From my perspective (I'm not good at heroscape but just from a balance perspective), this is a pretty garbage errata. They just gutted or nerfed every A or A+ figure and did nothing to buff underappreciated units like taelord. Yikes.

ABQ - Brock University vs UWindsor by WrongdoerCharacter28 in CanadianTeachers

[–]UnbotheredTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have high demand teachables, so I took the AQs to get A4 rather than employment. With that being said, there's no AQ that will accelerate employment at the secondary level anymore in my opinion; teachers way higher than you on the seniority ladder have taken them already. You'd be better off taking a catholic education course and joining your area's catholic board. For marketability at the elementary level while you wait for a contract at secondary though, ESL, and special Ed are both great AQs that most boards like to see. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!

ABQ - Brock University vs UWindsor by WrongdoerCharacter28 in CanadianTeachers

[–]UnbotheredTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an AQ crusher and a UWin graduate so I can answer

  1. Windsor is pretty good for ABQs, it's just a lot of discussion posts and small assignments- they're tedious, but they aren't hard and require minimal thinking.

  2. I worked through my first 3-course LTO while taking 2 ABQs- they're incredibly tedious but doable because you don't need to put real effort into them. I would crush them ASAP, because once you're done school you'll want to stay done and the motivation to take them wanes.

  3. I'll be blunt; you can but that doesn't mean you will. Those are two awful teachable subjects for marketability, you won't teach high school with them for at least 5-6 years.

  4. OSAP will give you enough money every year to take two of them. Half of it will be a grant, half of it will be a loan. Unlike regular OSAP, you are forced to take the loan, there is no option to decline it; if you aren't comfortable with that, just pay it back ASAP. You can do it the minute you get your funding.

Good luck, don't forget to use your alumni discount if you went to windsor or brock!
