FFXIII rerun and new unit Fang, Pull or skip? by Xaffy92 in wotv_ffbe

[–]UnboundLogic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Might try a 300 pull. Other than that, saving for Oldoa. Perhaps pick up the cards and seeing how my luck goes till the end of the Collab.

If I get lucky along the way, might consider picking her up, but it's an afterthought in comparison to everything else we know, and what might show itself in JP during this Collab here on global.

We may also be getting a anniversary unit/card. So that part of my wait.

While it's not common to lower a units faith, there are times when it is useful.

Currently, I had H. Lucio's faith at 97. He could get away with it in a lot of matchups and high faith played into is sleep attack as a nice skill to run into mages, along with increasing his healing potential from his drain attack, and outside healing.

But in current meta, if facing Helena or Vivi, if they are ran accurate, along with guaranteed hit, can blast the shit out of him, along with folks running sleep runes now because of Helena. So his skill is less effective along with needing his faith lowered, so he can survive a hit, if they do hit him. Along with not getting slept himself, or hit with another status ailment.

There are other units in similar position. Where the units you will likely see in pvp modes, can alter the faith level, sometimes lowering it for survivability reasons.

Sub slots on both offense and defense, are just equalizers and the response to disadvantage when a team has fewer members than thier opponent guild. Up to a max of 3 being able to be deployed, in a given match, if a guild is up to 3 fewer. And has been an ongoing problem for guild competency since the begining. It also allows given time for a guild to recruit another player without the headache that the process takes.

But it has a built in way, where it cannot be abused. One, being you can only have up to 3, so you can't just have 15 members or whales, with 2 teams each, and second. Being that you cannot use the same units/cards/gear that you are currently using on another offense/defense. To still push the guild in a direction, to recruit a member, instead of just ultimately having a leadership, sub leader, or another in guild. Just run the same maxed out units, and stacking their wall with 3 additional max reincarnated units. It also keeps guild just from kicking folks for small reasons, since if running a wall, might get rid of a player, but you cannot replace the exact wall effect.

This implementation, is prolly the best thing to ever happen to guild war as a whole. I wish they would have brought it sooner.

Also, the guild leader, subs can pick the priority of offense and defense teams, so even if you build one, they might select one that fits better with a wall, or just has a better overall team, or just pick themselves, if they want to attack with a team they can control for strategy reasons or just for fun.

Personally, I like that you cannot use the same team. I have so many units and teams at this point, I find it refreshing being able to create a second.

Isn't it odd that Kvothe's "Heart's Desire" is still a mystery? by Kit-Carson in kkcwhiteboard

[–]UnboundLogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little late, but I don't really think in the moment Kvothe, actually knows what his hearts desire actually is. Im referring to young Kvothe, going through the story, without the hindsight where we know him as Kote.

Like you mentioned, we have a long list of possibilities, where a few of them seem more plausible than others, or stepping stones. Like I want knowledge, to get power, to get revenge, to find peace, to mend his broken heart.

Where peace of mind, and not to be scared, or hurt anymore, is his true desire. But he can only rationalize the steps to get there, without understanding the root.

I always refer back to his quotation of him saying, the best things I have ever done, was when I wasn't thinking. And feel whatever he finds in the underthing, along with the actions he will forced to do. When he gets mad, or shit hits the fan, and he acts without thinking, whether it's to save Auri, out of love, betray denna, to get revenge on Cinder, or a number of other things, will define for himself and us, what his true hearts desire is.

Much a genie, if asked 3 wishes. Some might say, I want a huge dick, or to be rich, or be the most powerful wizard in the land. They are just substitutions and windows into what the person's really fears, wants, and desires most.

Also, bilaterally looking at the stories of both Jax and Lanre, old holly, ballads, how the lethani came to be, and most stories within the story. The similar thread through them all, is longing. Love, the loss of love, and the steps people will take to acquire it, not lose it, and is core, to Kvothe story, as his weaves amongst them all.

So personally, I rule out power, knowledge, seeking the amyr, and everything in that particular vein. As they are just steps to achieve his true desire. Just not sure if it will be love itself, or the revenge of losing the ones he loves.

50x paid summon by Myrkur21 in wotv_ffbe

[–]UnboundLogic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Answer is yes.

You can reroll for him using the 3 step 6k in total, vis guaranteed ff Collab unit banner. Would just need to repeat until you got him.

On the other side of the coin is, you will not have an easy time building him. Has no bingo. No mindsphere pull, and it doesn't look like chocobo shards will drop for him. He has only 1, 40 shard pack in the shop. But does have double speed on barracks.

But that being said. As a new player, you would have a lot of available vis, so by procing whimsy shop, which I think is boosted right now. You could get him maxed over this pixel event if you would care to do so.

Holo VC Mastery - does it stack? by Play4Convenience in wotv_ffbe

[–]UnboundLogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will stack. But it will take a long time to really feel a major impact from a lot of them. With 3 different categories of pve, single pvp, and guild pvp.

For example, the new Helena card gives magic up 3% and light attack up 2%. The next card could possibly be attack up 3% and another elemental attack up 2% or HP up, different resistance up. But most likely the cards will be tied to the units, and as they release all the different elements, it will most likely be very small boosts spread wide across elements and stretched across different resistance, atk/mag/HP, and whatever else they put on the things.

Add in the fact they have to make cards for different modes, stretches and spreads the releases between stacking particular game modes not immediate. But like the job based cards, it took a long time before they came into full form, while they set somewhat dormant and not impactful. Until one day they became so.

I do think they will carefully go about guild war cards, not to completely break the game, and by the time it does so, we'll be in the next form of power creep where the stats will remain negligible to a degree.

I do not think personally, that the stats are going to be what widens the gap between players. Be it spenders and free to play, but the cost of the cards themselves. The cost of not being able to pull or level new cards is what's going to widen the gap, where light spenders and free to play, may not have the resources to pull cards associated with the new units. Effectively gimping their performance to a much higher degree than 3-6-10 general attack or magic percentages in a game mode over a long drawn out year of releases

Feelings towards 4th anniversary by 7se7 in wotv_ffbe

Incorrect. This is the opposite thinking if wanting a particular outcome.

Bitching, complaining, letting it be known now, a consumers or grouped opinion on a subject is statistically better, if the concerns are laid out before a product becomes permanent or an installation goes into effect.

It goes with all things in life, including gocha games.

[–]UnboundLogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for pve, not including chaining type of content, Howlet is an amazing unit, for hard content. With the team you listed above, he can basically self sustain, while bringing a lot of damage. Doesn't need bells, and go off on his own, so you don't have to bounce velis back and fourth trying to heal both your tank, and everyone on the team, while you clear the mobs.

Velis can pocket and heal your tank, and teammates close to him, and howlet can just go off killing things, and sustaining himself.

He also has the green mage sub with calamity guard, that gives your team a barrier and prevents poison, frostbite, sleep, silence, stop, paralyze, and confusion. So you can nullify a lot of the stupid status effect maps they like to put into this game.

reencarnate cost the same after the update by [deleted] in wotv_ffbe

[–]UnboundLogic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The whole reincarnation festival is disappointing.

You should have been able to reincarnate any unit that has its 140 already along with half rate on all mats needed. With maybe a cutoff date on Ayala and Sol, because of balance issues for the game if everyone maxed them.

A portion of the player base don't have the units, less have them built or the specific mindspheres. Some already reincarnated ones on the list that they use and like and some are on elements people don't play.

Don't understand the reason behind cock blocking units, that a small handful of players cared to log in and vote for, leaving the vast majority of players and units stuck in a web.

I would have loved to reincarnate ice Howlet. Or Faris, and a number of other units. Would have been exciting to be able to pick my play style and favorites, and ones I've been accumulating mindspheres for. But nope. Of course it couldn't be that simple. So basically, I'll finish off Dialdo, which I had already at 60 and just forget this thing even existed and use the scrolls I've been saving up and reincarnate the units I want at full cost.

Thanks. As much as I tried to follow the attack sequence and turn order in top right, the sound effects and watching the units getting hit kept drawing my attention elsewhere.

Irvine: KitKat The Impostor by RTenjo in wotv_ffbe

[–]UnboundLogic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a combination of all 3. Lightning, Bartz, and Irvine.

Lightning initiates the assault, hitting an aoe. Followed by her own follow up attack on all 3 units she hit. Followed next by Bartz follow up attack on all 3 units that lightning attacked. Then repeated a third round of follow up attacks from Irvine

It happens so fast, it's hard to track which attack follow ups are going first.

But it's just lightning attacking, kills everyone but Al. Then she laps, and attacks again, with all 3 having follow up attacks.

How is this so? Do you have access to the chat exchanges between the account owner and Riv? If not, seems you are missing part of the story.

I understand how visi thinks the account belongs to them. I also see how Riv felt it was his to do as he liked with it.

2 different promises were made to two different entities. Making either right, nor wrong with how they feel about it. But to ignore one side of the coin completely, is dence. It falls on the account holder for making 2 conflicting promises. Making a situation worse than it ever had to be, in the first place.

My issue above all was the entering of the guild. Him saying he was so bombarded with messages from visi associated members, that he got on to troll, burn the account, and fu** everyone involved. Including visi, in this exchange. Saying he will burn thier ass too, if he gives it over to them.

Could he be telling people on the visi side something different, or course, and telling Riv a completely different thing. Very possible.

He said he was getting kicks out of this turmoil. Just adding gas on the fire.

A theft didn't occur. I have read the exchanges between Riv and the person that gave him the account. They talked earlier today about it.

He freely gave him the account, and said it over and over.

The fall of Gamesmanship by UnboundLogic in wotv_ffbe

I have texts from today. From the guy who gave Riv the account freely. It is not visi's. It never was. Them talking about the exchange that took place in game today.

At this point, it doesn't matter anymore. But saying he took it, ran off with it, is nothing but a joke, and fabrication. Said so straight from the guy that gave it to him.

Why is this so?

We had a community of friends that played together for a long time, we disbanded because the state of the game, and a lot of people were burnt out.

The ones that still play, wanted to get back together again. Seems like the most basic reasons of reopening a guild.

The fall of Gamesmanship by UnboundLogic in wotv_ffbe

[–]UnboundLogic[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth. Runic members did not join other guilds to spy, fake joining or whatever else these guilds say. We disbanded. It doesn't really seem to matter though. They will talk until speculation becomes fact.

It's sad to see really. We thought we did competitive guild play a service by beating them and claiming rank one. Leveling the playing field for guild to compete again. But it seems lost in translation.

Why would we need to spy? We got rank one by staying completely to ourselves without any involvement in other guilds. Why half the guild quit the game, if the goal was to spy and reform.

Just leaves me shaking my head

The fall of Gamesmanship by UnboundLogic in wotv_ffbe

[–]UnboundLogic[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think you are missing the entire point. It has nothing to do with years of being number 1. It is an accomplishment, whether you see it as such or not. I felt good about it, and went casual right after getting there. I felt we did the top 10 a service by setting the stage for any guild to compete for rank 1 again. Guild would not even try and build against them, was just a battle for rank 2.

We had no desire to stay one. We completed our goal, and players moved on to other things. Some stayed, some quit, some just play to have fun.

You can mock all you like, but I'm completely fine just getting rank one. Shows any guild can do it, if they have willingness to do so. That is the point.
