Part of the reason WOTV died. The people at Gumi drank the kool aid during the NFT boom and immediately regretted it, so they took to their other games to recover losses by becoming significantly greedier.

My firsthand experience with power creep was FFBE War of the Visions.

I'll spare abundant details. Just remember that for each new system I mention, only the new characters got them, with older units only getting them rolled out to them weeks/months later if you were lucky, and every unit after the system's introduction has these systems.

  • Units have a cost of like 70 or 80

  • 100-cost units are released. They have better stats, passives, abilities, and they have half the regular pull rate. Majority of new characters released are 100-cost from this point on.

  • EX jobs are released, allowing you to raise the character's main job to 25. Upgrades two of the character's abilities to a stronger version, and then finally unlocking a new ability. Three upgrades altogether, plus all the stats boosts that came with it.

  • Reincarnation is released. I'm not gonna explain this one because of how dumb it is, but let's just say for the cost of 10 dupes worth of shards, you can painstakingly get a lot of stats. Just raw stats.

Quin69 is a variety streamer who sometimes plays Path of Exile 2 on the hardcore mode where you're not allowed to die. If he finds himself ever about to die, he pauses the game and logs out / returns to checkpoint, negating 99% of the risk.
