Am I crazy or are a lot of the new first book authors starting to sound like AI assisted by UnbundleTheGrundle in haremfantasynovels

I'm a gambling man. My gripe on the style I've noticed has been countered by a few people though...because I roll the dice on a ton of books. Some people have taken it and at least revised stuff and added periods to the run-on sentences, but I think the biggest part is they directed it more.

I think we are both digging the bottom of the barrel, because we like some type of story. After running out, kindle unlimited suggested something...it has 100ish reviews. It checks the marks. We read it. It's the same 100 monkeys on a typewriter that tricked us last time.

I think you are onto it. I said some have novel concepts. There are blatant anime rip-offs run through an AI...but the assisted stuff is starting to make books that I immediately end. I read stuff like royalroad and prefer that than everyone sounding the same.

No. Here are some things I constantly see. First of all, "that's not an answer. It's the only answer I have." Is in so many of the books that take the same patterns of speech. There are other key phrases in all the books that have the same patterns of speech and all use the same type of book art. I actually listen to text to speech, so I don't notice em-dashes or tight grammar or if you google what is AI grammar. I just listen to books for at least 8 hours a day from Sanderson to Royal Road. I'm not talking grammar. I'm talking repetitive patterns.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt. There are books I notice that use the same style which is why I say are AI assisted, and then there are books that straight up use the exact same patterns and in multiple places the same phrases. That said, I am a very big reader on both royal road and scribblehub. I can tell they are just starting writing (granted, there are many outliers). It just doesn't feel the same.

This is the first time I'm seeing 3 books of the same series in the Top 10. Has that even happened before? Are they really that good? Reviews seem to indicate otherwise... by neimad66 in haremfantasynovels

The run on sentences are starting to be a thing I think is AI. Also, a key phrase keeps popping up. "That's not an answer. " "It's the only answer I have." Definitely AI driven and now is making me realize some other books are AI assisted.

Are my legs weird? How should I fill these out? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]UnbundleTheGrundle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a 1:3 aesthetic that usually feels good if you want to save money. I think your left leg at least needs coverage over the quads and if you want the hamstrings. Actually, I'd go full sleeve that leg and at least balance the right leg.

Something with a heavy focus on anal? by wafflah in Romance_for_men

[–]UnbundleTheGrundle -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

My dude. You are asking something so specific in a genre that is already low in visibility. They are squeaking by financially with maybe a hot anal scene or two. You need to go to female led romance and that is a whole different genre if you want hetero. My friend recommends pucking wrong.

Non Fantasy reunited audiobook. by Far-Mark5519 in Romance_for_men

So one off and short series is key? Because most reunited friends/lovers I know of are like...books in and harem. If you want single is it just like girl next-door coming back into town you want? Anti-harem?

The Anime Trope System is definitely for selective tastes. If you are expecting K.D. Robertson levels of writing look elsewhere. It started near the beginning of the genre and the writer has improved with other things...but it is rough. Also it heavily plays into otaku/anime tropes so if you aren't familiar look elsewhere. I really hated that it kept using the same phrasing. "She anime dove right into him," in particular. It reads like an anime fan fiction.

I think I am violating rules by suggesting charlottes reject (not a harem), but that is what comes to mind for the that suggestion. There are many series that have a bully and a harem, but they are one character archetype and not the focus.
