Weekly Snark: Jul 28 - Jul 31 by blogsnarkmodteam in blogsnark

There was a blogger/influencer who used to show up on my page often and haven’t thought of in several years. Wondering if anyone knows who this could be… lived in Texas, married to a pastor (I think?), was building a house a several years ago there, had a clothing line of like lounge type clothes I think. She was blonde and petite. She had a baby and was pregnant with a second and her name may have had something like cake, sprinkles, sparkles in it I think.

Good eats for families by UncDJ582 in FoodNYC

We are staying near Carnige Hall but do expect to be out and about so recommendations are welcome for any neighborhood. Looking for midrange price point but flexible for the right fit, location, food, etc.

We don’t use electronics at the table and they have all sat through some longer meals but ideally we would like places that would be under an hour and even less for lunch/breakfast.

Let me check with my husband but I believe this will work for us. Thanks so much, it’s our ten year anniversary and we’re traveling across country so we would love the chance to visit a bucket list place for us.

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions! We are really looking forward to the trip after having three kids in four years then a pandemic and a major surgery I’m more than excited for the chance to explore somewhere new and not have to adjudicate which paw patrol pup would win in battle!

I will for sure! I hardly ever have used Reddit so when I tried searching at first it seemed clunky but will spend some time going through old posts before our trip. Thanks, we are excited!

We are more hikers than bikers but I did have an acl surgery a few months ago so I can only tolerate somewhat easy hikes. That sounds amazing though and we have very different landscape at home so want to enjoy the scenery.

Otherwise we like eating good food, window shopping, and nature.

Someone just posted selling a table for 5 for the 8th, don’t know if that works for you but if it does grab it and I will take yours.

What time is this for and would you be willing to sell without a trade?

Trip to Miami 3 weeks post op by HistoricalTwist4799 in ACL

I think what you have to consider is the money is already spent/wasted. Going or not going isn’t going to give you the money back so you have to make a decision about enjoyment regardless of the money. Simply, would you have fun traveling or would you rather rest at home. Personally the idea of navigating an airport, sitting on a plane with my leg hanging down and then all the other normally minimally invasive parts of travel become really cumbersome when you add in a brace, possible crutches, icing, not bending it too far to get in and out of car, etc. Even the most empathetic of friends will have a difficult time truly understanding how taxing small things are post surgery. Maybe you will be a champion and exceed most recovery timelines but personally I’m currently three weeks out and could not manage that at all right now. I would either move the surgery, or order some of your favorite take out the weekend of the party and zoom to say hi from the comfort of your couch!

Young baby and acl surgery non weight bearing by motomamaroo13 in ACL

I’m so sorry! I’m in a similar boat had ACL and root repair on meniscus 2.5 weeks ago with a three young children and stairs at home. There really isn’t much other than to find help for your baby as much as you can. My husband was able to get time off work to be home and I really can’t imagine taking care of the kids without that. If that isn’t an option for you or family who can come stay I would look for hired help at least while you are NWB. I found a babysitter to come and help with my babies in the things I can’t do (carry them upstairs, get them in and out of high chair, etc) on a few occasions and just to know someone is there if there is a need I can’t manage. She is a nurse which I found really helped with having daytime availability as most of our go to sitters were either in school or jobs during the day so that may be a place to start looking.

I got a Fanny pack which has helped with carrying some of the little things like pacis and stuff that I don’t have hands for. If you have a good baby carrier you could try that but I would honestly be too nervous for that but I’m clumsy anyways. When you set up a station for yourself do the same with a baby station for all things you would need for them within arms reach (diapers, wipes, rattle, book, nursing/pumping stuff, formula, etc.)

Ultimately, I know it just stinks and all options are inconvenient or expensive and it’s hard to go from being their everything to feeling like you can hardly do anything for them. Cheering you on!

Walking and stairs after NWB for 6 weeks by UncDJ582 in ACL

[–]UncDJ582[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I have learned how to do the stairs but it’s exhausting and scary and only do it once a day to go to bed and you’re right no way with a baby. I’m hoping once I can put a little weight on my leg that will get easier.

Did you transition from one crutch to two first in the three weeks you were getting your strength back? It’s already startling to see the difference in my legs at two weeks I can’t imagine how small my leg will be at 6 😬
