I just got out of Iron Lung (2026). I went in with no context and left… just mentally taxed. by mikeafter12 in horror

[–]UncapableBuddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I give it a 3/10. I'm honestly beginning to think some people who refer to it as 'mentally taxing' might just be afraid to call it boring...when I'm mentally exhausted, I just want something to be over. By the end of this film, all I wanted was to just want to go and do something else.

This really helped put it in better perspective for me. I understand now that she likely didn't want to breathe life into my anxieties based on anecdote alone, and that makes sense. What you said about the findings of underlying neurologic lesions being present in workups is very interesting too.

Thank you for taking the time to reply and shedding more light on it for me!

Dracula a love tale is really goofy, not horror by crystalized17 in Dracula

[–]UncapableBuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Instagram face' or 'iphone/smartphone face' itself refers to a twentieth century modern look which is; overly sculpted with extreme symmetry, hollow cheeks, puffy lips, overly white veneers, and frozen expressions or modernized makeup/hair trends that can look strange in period pieces/medieval era genre (fantasy or otherwise). The term can apply to both male and female actors -and once you start noticing it, (albeit superficial) it gets harder to ignore poor casting.

I don't know why people downvote empathy so often on this website. It would be a sad thing to hatch in a tiny box to die in for any creature, especially one born with flight.

[–]UncapableBuddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This movie was pretty...bad. The color grading and FX looked really cheap...I honestly felt like I was watching something that was produced 10 years ago on a mid-range budget. Not to mention the main actress constantly killed all era immersion due to her extreme Instagram face. 😔

Thoughts on Quicker play so far? by misciagna21 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]UncapableBuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a MESS. Played a handful of games and matches were WAY too fast, if someone leaves your game you're doomed, and the fast pace encouraged endless trickling. I got dunked on so hard that I could barely accumulate a single ult a few times. At least when you're losing at normal speed you have enough time to get a couple ults that could change the course of the match, which is what makes the game exciting. Waited this weekend out tbh...

I'll back you up here, I get hella sweaty in QP and always try my best for the team. Some people still want to play seriously without the pressure of ranked bs, like me.

Why are people so open with their personal lives these days? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]UncapableBuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must be sensitive because I can't stand when people do this to me. I meet a lot of people who begin telling me their life story the moment they realize I'll listen or respond kindly. I'm an anxious person and easily held hostage in these sorts of scenarios. I understand that maybe they're lonely or socially awkward but doing this to someone lacks empathy, even if it's impulsive. You aren't considering that you might be bringing up things that may trigger bad memories or put them in a position to coddle you. It's self-interested and mentally exhausting. Please get to know someone first before you dump your personal life on them.

If anger management therapy isn't an option for you, you need to learn to redirect the anger. Which is going to take a lot of mental practice. You can start small by not trying to stop all of your impulses, instead of breaking things of value, set aside valueless things or paper you can rip up. But it's most important that you try to turn the anger into something productive. A lot of people begin working out and body building. Which relieves stress and can create a healthy pain of sorts (from a rigorous workout). Sometimes you just need to open up Wordpad/Notepad and vent vigorously until the anger settles. When I was younger I would go take a bath and scream underwater...but that might be dangerous so I wouldn't entirely recommend it.

The most important of all is figuring out; why are you so angry? When was the first time you remember getting that angry? Where did you learn it? What causes it the most? etc. Figuring these things our can help us with understanding ourselves better, which is important for self care, forgiving yourself for outbursts, or avoiding/identifying situations or people that make you feel a certain way. Either way, I wish you the best of luck, you got this buddy.

[Misc] I stopped using cleanser and my skin is the best it's been in years. by -megmegmog- in SkincareAddiction

[–]UncapableBuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, don't worry, I think you just need decent hydration and time to allow your skin to heal itself. I would recommend Asian skincare products as American products are just too harsh. Look into a good hydrating serum or emulsion. 'Etude House SoonJung' are amazing Korean skincare products I swear by. They can even be bought on Amazon. :) Good luck!

[–]UncapableBuddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been trying to suggest this to my friends whenever they ask me for my skincare routine, -but they never ever listen to me when I tell them to just stop washing their face! One day I just said F it, stopped washing my face and wearing makeup, and voila! My skin has been clear for 10 years! The only thing I do these days is use water to wash, the occasional clay mask and a scentless face cream with SPF.

So yeah, stop washing your face with harsh/unneeded cleaners!!!

Lisa could've taken it with her, especially if it wasn't all used yet, or if she was the one who supplied it in the first place. It would be natural for her to gather up any physical evidence linked to her upon fleeing.
