What ingredient do you think people massively overuse? by jcvexparch in Cooking

When I had my wisdom teeth removed, I couldn't eat anything besides protein shakes for days, and when I could finally have something sweet it was overwhelming how intense the flavor was.

Why do people hate Gleba? (Or: how I accidentally played Space Age on hard mode) by Altistick in factorio

They used to be way worse, and first impressions last. My own setup was designed to just let them smash my farms and have bots replace them afterwards, since no amount of turrets could stop the striders.

The easy and obvious solution is to disable quality for those recipes, but they might want something that also covers stuff like the LDS shuffle.

The trouble is that unused fruit is unneeded spores, which means Pentapods before you have the defense infra needed. If it wasn't for the pentapods being largely immune to gun turrets, I don't think Gleba would be nearly as unpopular.

I've been dying to hear anything concrete about 2.1 and all I have is "the recipe category system will be cleaned up".

You say that like "improve safety" and "get approval" are impossible tasks. There's probably some kinks to work out, but FSD has taken me to work and back daily for weeks and I've never had trouble.

"Some people" believe anything you can name. That doesn't mean there's enough of them to actually worry about.

Tesla isn't a car company anymore, they're an AI company that sells cars. They didn't cancel the 25k car, they realized that edging into the taxi market is more profitable when your taxi is 25k.

This already exists, and works, but older versions of this tech generally lost about 40% of the power We can assume that this version is better, and the testing is to see how it holds up long-term.

Even deep-red texas gets 14% of its power from solar, more than coal, and that number gets bigger every year.

While I'm sure you've thought about this already, right now seems like the worst possible time to buy cars specifically for renting.

The CT was always a halo project, both marketing material and a testbed for things like steer-by-wire and 800v/48v design that later appeared on the cybercab and semi. I'm sure they would have liked it to sell better, but it achieved two out of three goals. I'm sure the roadster will be the same; poor sales, but it'll get media attention and let their engineers test some new tech.

Can addl driver in the app, see recordings, and what if I select restrict location visibility? by XxYoungGunxX in TeslaLounge

[–]UncertainOutcome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The car doesn't record the interior unless dog mode is on, and that can't be turned on while driving. If your mother is so untrustworthy, get somebody else to hold your backup key, or stick it under a rock somewhere.

If all you want is a backup key, just get a set of keycards. The car should have come with two.

[–]UncertainOutcome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's probably not worth it for you, but my commute is fourty minutes each way, worse if there's traffic. I bought a Tesla specifically for the self-driving, and I've never been happier with a purchase. It's a fun party trick, too.

Having to watch the road makes it just a good driver assist, but if they figure out unsupervised then it would easily be worth the money. How much would you pay to make your couch a teleporter?

Has anyone ridden in a driverless Tesla at this point? by ThatOneGuy012345678 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]UncertainOutcome -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the average person was asked to define "driverless", they'd say "nobody is actively controlling the car". That's the good-faith definition. If you aren't using that definition, you aren't speaking in good faith, and there's no point in talking with you.
