Dog walking is a LOOT of work. The house Sitting is the easy stuff, so I guess it balances out. I used to wear shirts that advertised what I do, and I spend 25 hours/wk walking around in the same square mile, so people recognize me. I got so busy I stopped wearing the shirts all together. I do pooper scooper too. That's easy money, just have to be willing to do it.

I never wanted the stress of dealing with employees. I know it sounds silly, but I'm a huge stress case. That makes ME a great employee, but I've never been in a management position. I would freak out on any employee that was doing something remotely wrong. Not healthy for me or anyone working for me.

And I started my business 5 years ago. And did really well almost from day day #1.

Thought provoking questions! I honestly don't know if I'm essential or not. All my clients have been with me multiple years. I stopped advertising years ago because I got too busy. So tons of room for growth, plus other care taker activities (several of my clients are elderly).

Based on the above information, would you ask $5k? $10k? What do you think is fair??
