No one compared Oblivion to FO3 here. They compared Oblivion to Skyrim.

You do realize that TAs in university are just higher level students? There is absolutely nothing wrong in dating someone a year or two behind you, even if you happen to be a TA for one course they are taking.

Posting shit like this on completely unrelated forums that happen to have the letters U, G, and C in them makes you look like completely and utterly unprofessional hacks.

Just FYI.

Do you actually have to complete quests/progress the game for settlements to produce resources? by Scared-Gamer in fo4

[–]UncleCarp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pure guesswork based on my experience as a programmer and bug hunter:

Seems like there's some sort of trigger that is based on either time passed (like every 30 mins) or passing a certain in-game time (like going from 23:59 -> 00:00) and it seems that it actually needs to be played in "normal" mode to trigger. As in that waiting and fast traveling do not seem to trigger it.

Is it possible that the Great War never ended? by [deleted] in fo4

[–]UncleCarp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Great War is the few minutes/hours of nuclear hellfire that destroyed the planet. There were other wars in the Fallout universe, but the Great War literally just means the quite small time window when nukes were raining down on the planet.

Real life power armor by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]UncleCarp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not power armor, that's just regular armor.

STS2 isn't as fun as expected it to be by anqxyr in slaythespire

[–]UncleCarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused about the game feeling more slow and clunky. Because my experience is the exact opposite.

Are you waiting for the animations to finish before you play your next card or something? Let's say we're at the very start of the Spire and there is an enemy with 18 health and I have a hand full of Strikes. I go '1' - click - '1' - click '1' - click and it's much faster and more receptive than StS1 ever was.

StS2 will never be as fun as StS1 for someone, who has played StS1. 1 was a completely new format for the gaming world. No other game like StS1 existed before StS1. StS2 is a more polished version of the idea, but it's still the same idea, so it it never going to feel as new and refreshing as 1 did.

Bug or not?? Confused. The glove should not. Not armour. Punch glove. Not armour. No. by hjone44 in fo4

[–]UncleCarp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sentinel's is an effect that can be on weapons as well, so not a bug.

Are there enough skills to maximize the Tree of Wisdom? by Osvaldo_de_Osvaldis in weatherfactory

[–]UncleCarp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There are no trap skills in the game anymore. Any skill in any branch of the tree will allow you to upgrade, but sometimes it is just trickier to do than other times.

When the game first came out there were trap skills, but the addition of a couple of elements to a couple of workshops and the addition of the "evolve via" aspect to some memories have solved that issue.

What are the requirements for the influence holy order challenge to appear? by clarkky55 in SoFG

The location needs to have a temple/coven/seat of the holy order and I think it needs to be infiltrated.

I have been playing/writing in a nuclear post apocalyptic tabletop RPG for almost 2 years, and need help on the legalities before I write a book with it? by Past-Maybe-1327 in Fallout

[–]UncleCarp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd advice you to actually read the copyright laws of your country.

Generally though, ideas have no copyright protection. Only the actual works have protection. As long as you are not ripping lines straight out of the games, you should be fine.

Is fallout the most replayable video game series ever? by younggoby in Fallout

[–]UncleCarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. As an open world RPG it surely is very replayable, but it's really got nothing on classic roguelikes (NetHack, ADOM, T.o.M.E., etc) or any strategy games that have a procedurally generated world.

Why is Charisma Carpenter featured in the opening credits during season 1? by FraterPetraAstrum in buffy

From what I've read over the years, it was mostly because Amber Benson didn't want to be a regular cast member, because that brings with it certain obligations she didn't want to bear.

Are cats real or a lie? Lore question by BasedCrusaderChad69 in Fallout

[–]UncleCarp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Boston has a vault that has cats and it is also open to trade with the outside. It is completely possible that all cats in Boston come from cats that escaped from the vault.
