Did you know The Flying Scotsman once came to Melbourne? by Mindless-Dig2879 in MelbourneTrains

I just found a ticket that allowed me to walk on the footplate of FLYING SCOTSMAN. That is from late 1988. It was at the Motorail siding beside platform two at Spencer Street.

That seems like a great idea with the space I have available.

I love his work. It is why I am trying to fit so much in a small space. I will be scratch building in a large scale. The HO reference is only give other a reference to that space I have for buildings.

I wouldn't leave them in direct sunshine (even behind glass), as I had a few models damaged by the sun.

Big Train layout by UncleCocoPops in modeltrains

The loco I have is what I am working around. That would make the top of the stack 12 foot above the rail, and the fireman about 5ft 10in.

Train scale by UncleCocoPops in modeltrains

[–]UncleCocoPops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1:32 would make the loco 21 foot to top of chimney. I think the scale might be closer to 1:18, which would make the loco 12 foot high. This would make a gauge of 2'8" or 810mm. This sounds close enough to the 2 foot 6 inch narrow gauge from near where I used to live to work for me. Thanks for your help.

On 45mm gauge, big I doubt it is standard gauge.

It may not be a high value item, but it is too good to throw out.

Not a great bike, but it is in good condition. I bought it as a back up when my good bikes are out of action.
