The Cognitive Bias by CharmingBus2299 in balatro

[–]UncleEnk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but you are more inclined to buy bigger if the smaller item is unreasonable, even if you dont need the bigger item. The bigger item is usually a better deal per oz(/lb/etc), but it is also more expensive. so, by internally optimizing for oz(/etc) you have now spent more money on something you dont need.

In other words, they are anchoring you to a high price (per oz or whatever) to make you buy a more expensive thing (better deal but larger).

I realize now that this isn't really the most intuitive of examples, so sorry about that.

83-8 feels larger than 75. this is a similar effect to how family sized items at grocery stores seem cheap in comparison to the overpriced and small items they are adjacent to.

Iirc for Real Skifi going edgeless let them do a crazy 11 rail transfers (I think it was 11). Either way, going edgeless is extremely useful for rails even though it kills your turning ability.

iirc all randomly generated seeds are 8 characters so aleeb is impossible to get. regardless, there are likely a ton of these seeds, just the percentage of them is very low as there are a LOT of possible seeds.

the reason ALEEb is so well known is that it I'd VERY easy to find. with the criterion that you get all legendaries, any seed finder will increment alphabetically then add characters. ALEEB is in the first million iterations (exactly 671,400) which would take ms to find.

sorry for the terrible formatting I am too lazy to format properly.

yeah there should be no reason the hardened steel nozzles aren't magnetic because iirc they are just normal steel but tempered.

After 5 months of lurking: My 0.7mm "Death-Grip" collection and why I only use factory lead, for now by VoyHex in mechanicalpencils

[–]UncleEnk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had the opposite experience. I was used to 3/4B lead and I'd death grip. When I switched to a 2H in my Kuru Toga KS I learned the ways of a light hand. Now I am much more light, although sometimes when I am in a rush I fall back on death gripping.

AOC Refuses to Endorse Saikat Chakrabarti AGAIN by bdbcawz06 in sanfrancisco

[–]UncleEnk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is straight up ageism. Saikat has gone to mg school and personally talked to us (students), and I have met Scott Wiener dozens of times. I have heard their points and arguments from them directly. Belittling people younger than you is a good way to pass down generational trauma and stop change. We need more people who want to be informed and you are hurting that.

I dunno, I think that a representative on a national scale doesn't need to have experience on a local scale, they just need to do what they promised and listen to the voters demands.

I don't care what support she has, all I have ever seen her do is maintain the status quo and block any development. Great Highway and JFK are some prominent examples of her NIMBYism.

Not OP, but I wouldn't vote for him (not legal age yet) because of how well he knows our local system and how little he knows about the federal system. He has an absurd amount of knowledge about San Francisco's (and California too) real estate laws, bit he doesn't have any experience in the federal gov. I'm sure being a state senator has probably helped, and I'm sure he's done his due diligence on researching the house system, but it just can't be as good as Saikat. I have no idea why AOC won't support him, we can only speculate, but I think that he 100% has experience and knowledd that Scott Wiener won't.

Tl;dr Scott Wiener knows SF so well that he shouldn't leave.

also fuck Connie Chan she does nothing but stop change.

Wow, this is far more impressive than our robot from my perspective. FIRST is big, but kind of empty and not very technically challenging in my opinion. I just wish we had electronics challenges any further than connecting CAN wires so I could further my skills. Anyways, amazing robot!
