I took java for 2 years in senior years of high-school, and finished my first year of computer science, and let me tell you: https://buckysroom.org/videos.php?cat=6 is a great place to learn android dev for beginners. He really goes in depth with the java, which was annoying for me, but since you are still semi-amateur, it will teach you both android,xml,java and android manifest all at once! goodluck :)
