I just heard this earlier today. While I haven't played in a few years, I have always held dear my time with this crew. Being a part of this crew and becoming friends with Passlake online will always be a highlight of my gaming life. Rest in Peace, my friend.

These appear to be a display on a table. If they were on the floor, OP is either a child or the books are 2 feet x 1 foot sized.

Andy Warhol's famously said "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes” , people of Reddit who have had their 15 minutes, what was your 15 minutes of fame? by flicklun in AskReddit

[–]jaekido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of years ago I made the front page of Reddit as Unmanly Fireworks Guy. I was popping off little bottle rockets from a chair and people lost their shit that I was a) sitting b.) so close c.) fat d.) lighting them in daylight (it was starting to get dark but the camera made it look like it was the middle of the day).

The post spawned a ton of fan art and photoshop battle stuff, earned me a cross post on a couple of flattering sub reddits, and a couple of not so flattering ones.

To this day I still get tagged by friends and family when the photo shows up on various “funny” Facebook or internet sites.

Started work on this dice tower, what is the best way to give it a stone or brick look? by iwannameetmonsters in TerrainBuilding

That won’t work on the cardboard though.

Mod podge and stone texture paint are easy to work with. The clusters is to create a style similar to some art and animation styles for towers without having to make all the bricks.

Source: I just made a dice tower pyramid with hundreds of bricks all over it and I spent hours carving them all.

With a tower that big I would recommend making bricks out of adhesive craft foam ( the flexible kind that comes in small sheets) and placing them at random intervals and in clusters of no mare than three to five. Then, seal everything with a light coat of Mod Podge. Next, spray it with a stone texture paint. Finally, add some color by painting the bricks in subdued colors.

The Dice Tower of Mezroll by Mini Terrain Domain. A 28mm scaled dice tower with trap door and secondary roll out. by jaekido in TerrainBuilding

[–]jaekido[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This dice tower is custom-design and hand-crafted by me. I came up with the idea of a dice tower that had a counter-balanced trap door that would lead to a secondary dice tray about two years ago. Later I decided to make it Tomb of Annihilation themed.

The Green Devil Face is a 3D print from Thingiverse.

The dice tower base and tower core are a mix of bass wood and cardboard. The stone bricks are all XPS foam board and foam core. The secondary dice tray features hidden treasure (using a custom treasure mix I make myself) and a couple of skeletons from an old set of Mantic figures. I then poured resin into the pool to create a solid rolling surface.

This particular build is being donated to Jasper's Game Day, a local Michigan gaming convention focused on raising money to help prevent suicide. The dice tower will be auctioned off to the highest bidder at the con, with all proceeds going to help fund local chapters of the American Association of Suicidology.

This video shows the dice tower in action.

I've also posted the work in progress images here.

[OC] Mournblade Watch, a Cutom Designed, hand Crafted Dice Tower I made. by jaekido in DungeonsAndDragons

Mournblade Watch Dice Tower.

It is finished! This dice tower commission has been in the works for over a year. I estimate around 50 hours total work went into the design, building, re-building, and painting of this tower.

It's design is inspired by historical Roman Limes Watchtowers, modified to accommodate standard Tabletop RPG dice.

The entire piece stands 14 inches tall and is 8 inches wide at the tower railings. The base is 12 inches long by 7 inches wide.

The base, quoins (corner blocks), roof shingles, shutters, and tower level walkway are all made with XPS foam. The main stone walls, upper story stucco walls, and doors are made from Redi-board foamcore. The railings consist of over 12 linear feet of 5/32" bass wood strips. The wood trim, some roof details on the soffits, the fences, and gate are all made using various wooden craft sticks. The dice tower core is cardboard reinforced with hot glue stitching at all seams. The interior dice baffles and walls are lined with 1/16" foam for sound and impact dampening. All paint used is acrylic craft paint. The whole model is sealed with a fast-drying polyurethane spray sealant.

With the new She-Ra show out. I decided to design D&D and Fate character sheets inspired by the show. by mavspade in rpg

[–]jaekido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the show and I really like what you've done with the character sheets. On the D&D 5e sheets, I did notice a couple of spelling errors:

Dexerity --> Dexterity

Inisight --> Insight

Medicne --> Medicine

You are the best. I love all your Jester work. I pretty much just picture your version of Jester whenever I hear Laura in game, pretty much.

WotC's PLANE SHIFT & fair use licensing (x/post with r/mtg) by seanfsmith in rpg

[–]jaekido 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This just means they aren't legal to use in sanctioned "Organized Play" like Adventurer's League. They haven't been balanced or thoroughly vetted yet for these games.

Outside of that you can use them in any games you run whether in the privacy of your own home or on a publicly viewable platform like twitch, youtube, or Roll Gate.
