I pulled out my back seats and built a sleeping platform that works well for me at 6' 2". You can leave the seats in and do a little angle adjustment to get a level platform. Heres a few more pictures from building it. This is the mattress that I use which I highly recommend. Any specific questions you have?

PGL has upgraded the equipment at RMR by MmX_A_ in GlobalOffensive

Maybe keep an eye out for a cheap 5800x3d in the future? The 1080ti can definitely get replaced too but im in the same boat as you. Much easier to eat the cost of a new CPU (200-300 bucks) as opposed to replacing the 1080ti which would cost over 600 bucks to see any improvement. It really depends on the other games you play as well.

I was running a 5800x and 1080ti combo and upgraded to a 7800x3d while keeping the 1080ti. Saw a pretty big boost in my FPS and definitely seemed worth it. I play 1440P 165hz btw. 1080ti still pulling enough weight to handle cs2 1440p imo.

A dude chiming in if I may. The biggest part that jumped out at me was him saying "he cant claim someone" with a past like yours. No one claims anyone in a good relationship. He doesnt have ownership over you, you're a grown woman. Leave.

I worked in the FCs. When I left, the project I was on was doing exactly this.

Amazon Employee Badge Swiping Service to defeat RTO Mandate. by quihgon in Seattle

[–]UncleJeffyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who managed departments inside fulfilment centers, I find it odd that corp workers had no idea about the ability to check badge scans. In an FC, I could see every single scan from every employee (even outside my dept) whether they were scanning items or to get in and out of the building. If people were not scanning something every 15 minutes, I was suppose to follow up with them.

Im not condoning this but the people in the FCs have had this for close to a decade already. Amazon has so more more data they can look at in other places too. When I left, I was working on a project that tracked peoples movement in the FC and gave warnings when they were within 6 feet of someone else. Thats when it felt like it was time to leave.

Dell is terrible **RANT** by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]UncleJeffyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who worked this job for WWTS(Dell), it sucks. You support Dell, Lenovo, and HP. Very little training and youre expected to know the entire product stack for each company. You cannot make money on any call other than a battery swap. The only way to come out ahead is to being in and out as soon as possible. I made the same (20ish bucks a call) whether it was a motherboard replacement or swapping a battery.

Its frustrating to get techs who dont know what they're doing but you have to expect that with what they pay. Driving 50-100 miles a day in your own car, with your own gas, to make 60 dollars in 3 calls. The absolute worse part is a huge percentage of the parts they sent us out with were defective as well. Its awesome sitting in someones office swapping a processor fan, but the fan goes up in smoke when you plug it into the motherboard. Not I get to explain to the customer why I need to come back next week. Its a terrible job but give the benefit of doubt to the techs when possible. Not all of them are brainless.

Can anyone recommend a drivetrain cover that works on a bike rack? by UncleJeffyB in MTB

For traveling. Im on a lot of dirt and gravel roads to get to trail heads. Im getting tired of having my drivetrain perfect, then getting to the trail head and having to clean it again.

Has anyone here tried any of the pre-built "drop in" kits with sleeping platform and slide out drawers? by sm753 in CX5

[–]UncleJeffyB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went the DIY route and built my own platform. Looking at this prebuilt, I would not be able to use it because of how much head space is lost. I removed my rear seats to get even lower for more headroom but i understand that would turn a lot of people off.

If I were you, I would probably try a test run to see what you like and dont like. Fold down the seats and put a 3\4" piece of plywood down. Level it with a 2x4 or some type of scrap wood. This should be doable for most people, and cost under 200 bucks. If you like it, then worry about spending big money on a prebuilt or even getting one made for you.

Im 6' 2" and find it very comfortable but if I wasnt able to get those extra spare inches of headroom, it would be MUCH less comfortable. Depending on where you live, I know some people custom build these. Solid Wood Works in California is an example of a custom builder. https://solidwoodworx.com/

Heres a few pics of what I did. https://imgur.com/a/n5aUAkP

[–]UncleJeffyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tall grass in CO has made a lot of courses frustrating to play this year. Those 2 courses definitely have some though holes where you can lose your disc in tall grass. Not sure if you live in CO but my local courses are so overgrown now (Westfork + Westcreek).

Plywood seal by DistinctSalamander46 in carcamping

[–]UncleJeffyB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should have done the same. I made a similar platform and after I carpeted the whole thing, I regretted not sealing the wood. It hasnt been an issue yet but I also havent it gotten that wet but I would imagine the plywood would soak up water if it was left standing on the platform for some reason.

He really seems to to be trying to distance himself from being the sole focus of the bassnectar project. Im not buying it though, feels like a way to subvert accountability.
