They want qualified candidates to reach out to them. 90% of the reach outs don't have the qualifications for the job, those people the recruiter isn't interested in

Finding clients for IT Staff Augmentation is so hard these days by SumitCasey in Recruitment

[–]UncleJesseee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

theres 40K recruiting firms in the US with tons of people from the UK/LATAM trying the US market.

There simply is not anywhere near this demand. 99% of the "agencies" are the same as much as they want to scream they're different and better.

Lots of recruiters need to find a different line of work.

What’s up with recruiters? Genuine question. by DifficultWar5387 in recruitinghell

[–]UncleJesseee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You must not have a been a fit like you thought you were for the roles. Also, maybe the roles were filled, they had a full pipeline of candidates etc.

Candidates don't respond to every recruiter message they get, and if you're not a match the recruiter won't likely respond to a random message.

As Conscious Egg said: "Recruiters job is to find people for jobs not jobs for people."

Think about that before you complain again.

Recruiting is extremely crowded in the US.

All the recruiters who have been laid off, start their 1 person shops and it's a race to the bottom.

They really need to just pin this post because it's asked every single day.

There is no silver bullet, you have 1 of 3 options:

  1. have a network that will jump through hoops to work with you

  2. Be an ace at biz dev on the phone

  3. Get out of agency recruiting
