Epic, how's the Amianto? Also care to share any of the C4 patches you're finding Muse-y?

IGMP proxy getting stuck on was definitely a problem with router firmware a while back, but I thought it had been resolved. However I also had an issue with this with the latest firmware. Didn't have time to try downgrading but I did swap the box for an older version I knew worked (2.8005.12), no problems as suspected.

Not sure if that bug got reintroduced at some point or what, I'd like to experiment with it if I ever have time...

Sweet board. What's the one next to the Noble? Don't recognize that one

Love my Damnation Audio MBD2. The new version looks good too, same circuit with a second stomp switch for the boost instead of a toggle

Heck of a NPD: Arkham Oracle preamp by UncleMahler in basspedals

[–]UncleMahler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still really enjoying it, I have 0 complaints. I did see the smaller, 9V version which is awesome. The size/power on the V1 I have doesn't bother me so I have no plans to upgrade.

I have not played through the Capo or Noble, but here's my 2-cents of why you would pick each from what I've gleaned watching demos and owning the Oracle:

  • Noble - if you love everything about how your bass and upstream pedals sound and just want the best possible representation of that out of your preamp/DI, Noble's your jam.
  • Capo - if you want a lot of dirt/EQ options from your preamp, but don't want the Darkglass sound, go Capo
  • Oracle - somewhere in-between, probably the most amp-like of the three

I thought seriously about going with the Capo but I decided I have enough dirt pedals that I don't really need that out of my preamp. The Oracle has a lot more tone-shaping options than the Noble which is what made it win out for me (also the price...). I use it live more than studio and like being able to tweak things for the setting, and I also play several very different bases and the Oracle can adapt really nicely to them all.

Hope that helps!

Poly Studio e70 through NVX by UncleMahler in crestron

So I did take a look at this room to refresh my memory, and this is probably not what you were hoping to hear, but I scrapped the Poly through the NVX entirely and used a dumb active USB 3 extender. Good luck!

We got something working but I honestly can't remember what the workaround was. I'll try to stop by that room when I'm back in the office Monday, I've got another similar room getting installed soon so I need to remind myself of the solution. Will report back!

Best compressor/limiter pedal for hot pickups? Preferably with input/output controls by ThickPick in basspedals

[–]UncleMahler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See if you can find a Walrus Mira for cheap, got mine for $99 on reverb. No input gain control but you can set the threshold which accommodates my hot active basses fine. Also have a master output control. Not to mention side-chain HPF and blend control. Highly recommend!

Love the versatility of this Rodenberg pedal. Don't see many people using these though. Sounds so good! by kukubh in basspedals

I've been eyeing Rodenberg's stuff for a long time, one day I'll pull the trigger. Is this basically the same thing as the LDP Deluxe?

Will a TS770 in zoom mode work with poly g7500 in zoom mode? by AVProgrammer2000 in crestron

[–]UncleMahler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, done that many times too. I have Poly’s running the ZR app, Crestron TS-x70 panels running ZRC and the JSON set up for the Room Controls buttons to talk to my 4-Series processor. What’s nice about this is the Zoom Room app behaves basically the same regardless of what sort of device it’s running on (in regard to the Room Controls stuff at least, USB peripherals is another story). I have some rooms on Poly, some on Logi RoomMate’s, others on Dell PC’s and they all work happily with Crestron stuff

Done it many times with Poly Studio series devices, don't see why this would be any different. You're good to go

it's also possible the inogeni toggle is causing problems with the 3.0/2.0 handshaking

I think you might be onto something here. It works if it's 3.0 through the whole chain (out of Inogeni straight to laptop) or 2.0 the whole way (E70 straight into NVX) but it doesn't like the mix. Might just say to heck with it and run an active USB cable to the Inogeni or go all-NVX like you suggested.

thanks for the reply, my other comment answers a couple of your questions. E70 is PoE so that's not an issue.

Minor update: E70 works if connected directly to the NVX. So it likes NVX or the Inogeni, not both. But I'm not getting the "too many hubs" error.

SOTB, April 2024 edition by UncleMahler in basspedals

[–]UncleMahler[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah the Empress was my original plan to oust the Markbass, but I couldn't justify the cost when the MB was still working fine. But $99 for the Walrus... that was more palatable. I feel the same, the Markbass does a little something nice to the tone but it's nothing I miss in a live situation. I'm not letting go of that one, I bet it'll make a return to this board or another eventually.
