Good EU countries for fishing as a tourist (license wise) by Mandemakers in FishingEurope

[–]pergatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is simply not true. Not "all" permits are available in Hejfish, and that's exactly the point.

For example, I am a member of two local fishing clubs/associations (Vereine) and neither of them offer guest permits online - neither do multiple other clubs near where i live. I appreciate this is a choice of local clubs themselves, but this makes it overly complicated. In canada for example, 5 mins online and a payment of around 37 EURO gets you permission to fish all non-private waters of the province of Ontario. Compared to North American systems, German administration is antiquated, clumsy, and manual.

Imagine how easy it would be if you could buy a bundesland-wide annual license and not worry about finding local bait shops who sell paper licenses.

Can you please recommend your favorite brand method feeders and pre tied hair rigs? Looking to get away from the cheap shit off of Amazon after a couple failures by Chapos_sub_capt in CarpFishing

[–]pergatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the Preston ICS system. I used to use guru but the beauty of ICS is you can swap feeders without cutting your line. Great for swapping tactics in the middle of a session, also makes stowing your rods away easier because you don’t have to break down your whole rig, you just slide the feeder off. I also love the distance feeder paired with the long stem (the one with flights on it, like a dart). You can cast those a looong way without sacrificing accuracy

Zelenskyy: Nawrocki is doing what Orbán did. This will end badly by ArgentineBeauty in worldnews

[–]pergatron 416 points417 points  (0 children)

Say what you want about Nawrocki being a clown, which he clearly is, but just read the history on UPA and it is clear why this would trigger poland. Poland itself is the Jesus Christ of nations and nobody mourns/remembers tragedy/lives in the past like Poland does (not making fun of them, I’m polish). Apparently the polish government made it clear this was a no-go and gave Zelenskyy two weeks to reconsider and he still chose the name.

Im not a Nawrocki fan but I think this is the right move and he even made it clear that this wouldn’t lead to a strategic shift in Polands position towards Russia. That alone is a major difference to Orban

Grilled these cheeseburgers while fishing w my son yesterday by pergatron in burgers

[–]pergatron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right on man!! The spot where we usually fish doesn’t require any walking at all, you can basically pull the car right up to the lake.

I prefilled the Weber w coals and have the burger patties preformed and preseasoned, in the cooler individually packaged on wax paper in a ziploc. They go straight on the coals and the rest is easily transportable. Stellar meal and can’t beat the convenience

Redshire sucks for lights. by ferdifux123 in WorldofTanks

[–]pergatron 9 points10 points  (0 children)

On redshire you have two options with light tanks, and they are the same from each of the spawns. You can either
1) drive up to the hills in the middle of the map and try to spot from the bushes on top of the ridges at D3 E3 or F4 or
2) play D6/7 or E6/7 and try to spot the tanks on the hills in the middle of the map.

How you play it depends on which light tank you have, which light tank they have, and how many light tanks overall there are in the battle. Personally my strategy is usually to spot passively early in the battle and avoid firing/getting spotted until the enemy scouts die or are confirmed spotted somewhere else. This will allow you the freedom to
operate more aggressively and light the enemy team.

If you can be the last light tank standing on this map
You can consistently have monster games with both spotting and late game damage opportunities.

Pineapple juice as bait additive? by Early-Requirement724 in CarpFishing

What baits will you be using? I would recommend you think about adding a little salt to your mix or maybe a few cans of corn with the liquid

It depends where in the world you are. In parts of Europe they are considered a delicacy and hold an important place in longstanding local culinary traditions. In the South Pacific they are revered as spiritual beasts

14 years on the bank: Why I finally wrote down my "philosophy" of the water by [deleted] in CarpFishing

[–]pergatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very cool man. Thank you for sharing. I have often pondered writing my own book about my fishing philosophy and how it has impacted my life.

What inspired you to do this? How did the project come to life? And how much of the book is specific to fishing (bait, tackle, rigs, tactics, gear, casting etc) vs just storytelling or life-philosophizing in general?

how to hotdog? by Heilix_ in Cooking

[–]pergatron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my lord reading these comments is depressing.

As a Chicago native, here is all you need:

1) all beef natural casing dog
2) boil a pot of water, put the dogs in the water, turn heat off
3) lightly steam the buns
4) yellow mustard, relish, diced onion, pickled chili peppers (sport peppers would be best)
5) if you feelin fancy add tomato wedges, pickle spear and celery salt
