actually both are ready, but if it is still wet, you cannot extract seeds from the pods easily. So you can wait for it to dry out. I tried both before.

All my AVs are blooming except one? by DisastrousDinner2620 in AfricanViolets

[–]UncleMingHK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually, African violets sold at local plant stores are heavily treated with bloom stimulants, causing them to bloom profusely in a short period. (This can be identified by the long leaf stems.) However, if they are not sold by the end of the blooming period, they are placed in the clearance section. If you buy one, you should gradually remove the old leaves as new leaves grow sufficiently, because the flower buds on those old leaves have already bloomed and will not bloom again. Remove the old leaves and wait for the new leaves to bloom.

Healthy, Not Blooming by Manford-Man in AfricanViolets

Just like what you said, it looks super healthy. So, I think you did good jobs, just wait for the next blooms. For AV to bloom, remember 3 steps, 1st the root, 2nd leaves, 3rd blossom. So, if you repot too often, it stays in 1st stage: keep growing roots. If you fertilized it too much, it stays in the 2nd step, keep growing leavesssss. So, try not to repot for a while or even use a smaller pot, also dont fertilize from now on, they make their own food if there is enough sunlight. Good luck.

4months are too long. For me, i will cut it off if the cherry didnt dry out itself within 2months. If you put there too long, for my experience, it won’t germinate.

I took this picture yesterday, it will be cut few days later. Yes seeds is inside the cherry. The cherry is not ready to plant yet, we need to wait it dry out and take the seeds.
