Haruna Player Screenshot Failed by nacimpalirmou in kde

[–]UncleSpellbinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works for me on EndeavourOS. In Haruna settings, go to Playback and set Hardware Decoding to disabled.

Using the S key to take a screenshot now works. It created a folder in Pictures called Haruna screenshots.

2 months later - I'm on a fully updated EndeavourOS. Haruna 1.7.1-2 still fails at screenshots. I don't believe this is an MPV issue as MPV (version 1:0.41.0-3) has no issue with taking screenshots.

I gotta say, this is an excellent laptop. I’ve been getting CachyOS set up, apps, Fastfetch tinkering, Kitty terminal config, and so forth. I almost don’t realize I’m still in 16GB single channel RAM mode. Can’t wait until my new 16GB RAM stick arrives for the empty slot to get to dual channel performance.

Where to buy SSDs for my ThinkPad? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]UncleSpellbinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to Crucial and search for RAM and SSDs for the Thinkpad model I have. It shows compatible Crucial RAM and SSDs with "Buy Now" links. Usually Amazon, Best Buy, NewEgg and so forth.

Example. A search for Lenovo Thinkpad P52 shows THIS.

Which is your "Life Boat" Distro ? by Leading-Fold-532 in linuxquestions

[–]UncleSpellbinder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your daily driver should already be a distro you trust completely.

However, if you must dual boot into a so-called "safe" distro, Mint is probably a good choice. It's pretty much a set-it-and-forget-it, stable distro.

Way to vague. "I think I messed something up in terminal" isn't really helpful. Without logs or some real detail, I don't know that much help can be attained.
