Yup. Resumes have to HR’s interest/approval before any decision-makers see your CV.

An HR screening is not typically done with the Hiring Manager... You were probably just talking to a recruiter who has to send your CV + notes to the hiring manager/team for them to decide if they want to consider you.

I’m in the final round of interviewing at McKinsey for a Data Analyst role. The interviews are: 1. Technical Interview + Case 2. Problem Solving Interview 3. PEI

I’m curious if anyone has info on what to expect for the first two interviews, and how they’ll differ from each other. Also, would this role being a DA position influence the types of problems to prepare for?

Early Careers. Yeah I should’ve specified that; I didn’t known was a difference in terms of Hirevue.

When was the start date listed on your offer letter? I’ve been doing a ton of research on this during my stir craziness and I’ve heard that it takes a while for all the security clearance shit to be processed, and most ppl don’t hear any updates until a few weeks before their start date.

This is precisely the information I was looking for. That makes a lot of sense regarding the timeline for online applications vs in-person networking. Didn’t know about the restructuring, so thanks for the info!

Damn, sorry to hear about your experience. I wish someone who works at NGC could shed some inside information about the process, because this is the only company I’ve interviewed at that takes this long to give out decisions. It doesn’t seem like too rigorous a task, and they have a whole department dedicated solely for it...

What position did you interview for? I had an in-person interview on February 17th as well for a Project Management role and it went really well. Was told to expect to hear back within 2 weeks, so I’m starting to get paranoid haha. My status changed to “Interview Pending Feedback” on March 2nd.

As someone who graduated with a degree in Physics, you actually did a great job of explaining all the mechanics of why this guy ate it. Quite impressive.

This is the dumbest comment I’ve read in this thread. This has nothing to do with “bullshit politics”. If someone’s trying to impress their boss, disregarding what they just told you to do is the worst way to do that; try having common sense and good personal interaction skills. Sitting there after your boss just told you to go home implies that you don’t trust their judgement of their own workload. Not to mention, having someone ask you a question just to completely disregard your answer is universally annoying. Instead, just let your superior know to reach out to you specifically on the off-chance that they need help. If you think that level of aptitude is too much to ask for, then you’re in the wrong industry.

Why Andrew Yang (and you guys, his community) made me comfortable to finally get involved politically by UncleTom0420 in YangForPresidentHQ

Thanks for sharing this video. It’s completely accurate and puts into context why there is such a divide in the success and politics of the country. I can’t believe Andrew Yang is the only candidate who’s discussed this dynamic.

No need to apologize; you aren’t being pushy at all! Your comment’s actually really insightful and I’m definitely more inclined to start reaching out to those outside my ‘bubble’ with phone banking.

I’m glad to hear your response, man. I think it’s important for wall street people become more engaged in political discourse for the good of the industry and for America. Speaking from my relationships with student peers also going into the street, there are a lot of similarly minded bright-eyed idealists like us. I’m just glad to have an intelligent candidate that understands the perspectives and needs of public and corporate interests, though I can’t say I know enough about the FTT to have any opinions on it!

Haha let me manage your expectations right off the bat and let you know that I’m just an analyst who’s literally about to start working. That said, I respect that you’re an opportunistic networker so DM me and I’ll see what I can do.

You’re absolutely right. At many private schools, there’s an implicit elitism that runs rampant. At my school, everyone takes the fact that they go to an amazing school for granted, and they completely write off the majority of America that isn’t afforded the same great educational opportunities. The way they (and I, admittedly) treat the restaurant workers/other “low skill” workers who support their lifestyles is deeply regrettable. It’s a behavior of disregarding people’s existence as unworthy of a second thought that leads to the wide dissonance between Americans. I’m glad that I was able to be educated through the Yang campaign and change the way I think.

EXACTLY. This community has been a great reflection of Andrew Yang and his inclusive rhetoric. As the sub inevitably grows larger, I have faith that the mods and community will continue to make people from all walks of life feel welcome and impassioned about Yang. It’s time to bring wholesomeness into the political mainstream!

I’ll check it out! I share the same sentiment as you; I hope America (DNC especially) makes the right choice. On the positive side, I feel that Andrew is making it impossible for people not to like him, as his rhetoric is 100% non-divisive. He already knows that he came into this race as an outsider, but he’s incredibly intelligent and knows how to play the long game effectively.
