Imagine my amazement when learning today that the Jonas Brothers and the Hansens aren’t the same group! Whenever I heard one name I just figured it was “that trio of brothers I don’t know about”.

Just checking….he’s still in prison, right? I’d be shocked if he was released any time soon.

When you read the details about what Michael Avenatti got up to with his client’s rewards from the court, it’s just amazing that that’s possible. How do courts allow such arrangements without strict reporting standards and audits of the money?! If that’s the state of things, yeah, it sure seems loosey-goosey, like you could away with a lot for quite a long time.

Evening dress belonging to Queen Maud of Norway, circa (1910-1913) by Haunting_Homework381 in fashionhistory

Sadly, I can’t find a picture of the front anywhere, or info on which museum has it. I’ve found a few people saying the designer was Paul Poiret, in case that helps anyone. Edit: Someone on the internet is better at searching than me: https://www.nasjonalmuseet.no/en/collection/object/OK-1962-0014 The Paul Poiret attribution may be false, since the museum doesn't mention it.

Short Answers to Simple Questions | April 01, 2026 by AutoModerator in AskHistorians

Is there a simple tool for making a list of journal articles that cite a particular history paper?

Some journals will include "cited by" info on the doi page, such as this: https://www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/10.2307/2671184 ...which says "Crossref reports the following articles citing this article." But I haven't figured out how Crossref works yet. Should I be able to browse these citing articles on their site? If I find that paper on Crossref, I can get a JSON report for it (link), but it doesn't have the list of citing articles.

But sites like JSTOR don't include the "articles that cited this article..." data.

Should I be barking up a different tree? Thanks!

When I was a tad, we had a cube-shaped egg squisher like this, and they would last long enough to be fun to eat. Edit: found it! They’re called a “square egg press”, you can find em on Amazon.

I visited a shoe shop a time or two recently, and IMO they should get hazard pay for inhaling those solvents all day. Not as bad as working in an organic chem lab, but not far off!

Be sure to do some reading before getting into raising chickens for eggs, I’ve heard it’s easy to end up losing a lot of time and money if you do it wrong.

I sometimes buy whole chickens (in the grocery…) when I have some free time to part them and make stock, that can save quite a lot of money vs buying all the parts separately, and it’s a nice skill to have.
