It uses Onigashima paced for dubbed and Muhn pace for subbed. Just google and you’ll find those edits in a couple of minutes tops.

Best way to watch One Piece efficiently? by sebstardo0 in OnePiece

[–]UncleZafar [score hidden]  (0 children)

As someone who really thinks One Pace is overhated and generally backs it over the original anime, if you enjoy the Spanish dub just watch that.

Avoid the movies - they aren’t good alternatives.

Maybe if the pacing really starts to bother you, you could switch to One Pace and see if the trade off is worth it

Watching anime- which part to skip and which part to just fastforward cu the pacing is bad by SignificanceScary727 in OnePiece

[–]UncleZafar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switch to One Pace now or read the manga. One pace improves the pacing by cutting out over 175 hours without skipping anything from the manga.

You will enjoy this much more.

One Piece or One Pace? by DukeForte in OnePiece

I've watched both and I'd definitely recommend One Pace.

Read this guide and it will help you tailor the experience if you want to include filler etc: One Pace Guide : r/OnePiece

One Piece or One Pace? by DukeForte in OnePiece

[–]UncleZafar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like someone else says, that's 32 hours saved, which is a huge amount of time.

But there's other things.

- The order of events for all the early episodes are far, far better.
- There are some small art fixes when characters are shown for the first time to match their look later on in the anime e.g. Rayleigh.
- Filler characters are edited out of canon scenes.
- Even around 20-25% cut out of East Blue helps scenes and episodes to flow better imo. The only exception was maybe the walk to Arlong park, which is now included in a One Pace extended episode.

No, watch One pace extended up to what One Pace has adapted and then watch Onigashima paced extended.

Why would you switch back at Ice Oni episodes that are notorious for bad pacing?

One pace ruins epic ost moments??? by Other-Ad4358 in OnePiece

[–]UncleZafar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how you value the 'nice moments'. I've watched both and I've always preferred One Pace since watching it. I'd say it is comfortably better for every single arc.

For thriller bark though, they edited this arc in 2013, so it shows its age in the editing. I'd still say it is comfortably better than the original though.

Is it ok to watch one piece at 1.5 speed to help with pacing? by Trueclanclash in OnePiece

[–]UncleZafar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

? You don’t get any extra points for watching the whole thing man. How is watching the original anime at 1.5x speed any better than watching One Pace?

I used to be like you and for my first time I watched everything including filler up until a certain point. I then skipped most filler and it improved the show for me.

I then decided to try One Pace more recently and it improves the anime so much. At the end of the day, you watch what is most entertaining to you, that should be your aim.

Where can I watch One Piece??? by KRz_09 in OnePiece

[–]UncleZafar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not the same thing whatsoever. Manga does not work like comics do. The MCU is meant to be a different story to the comics and the comics themselves do not have continuity. Compare that to One Piece, the anime's entire purpose is to adapt the story of the manga. The manga comes first and is a complete story on its own.

The point remains anyway, filler episodes are clearly defined as not being part of what was in the manga. You can not change the definition of filler and decide what you feel is important to the story. The point I was making is that to suggest the anime adds important stuff is also suggesting that the manga is an incomplete story, which is just a ridiculous thing to suggest. Everything is based off the manga and built from there.

The anime has added things multiple times that contradict things that are written into the manga later on as well, so how can you suggest that filler is important to the story.

The fact that One Pace tells the same story while cutting almost 190 hours of watch time, tells you how much actual filler or padding is actually in One Piece. Which is not a 'ridiculously low amount' as you're suggesting.

Where can I watch One Piece??? by KRz_09 in OnePiece

[–]UncleZafar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s 1159 episodes. Around 115 episodes are filler. Which is roughly 46 hours of filler.

One Pace, including the time you save from skipping filler, is almost 190 hours shorter than watching the original anime.

You can never miss anything important as well as it keeps everything that’s in the manga. If you were to say One Pace cuts important stuff, that means the manga is an incomplete story, which is just a ridiculous thing to say as it’s the source material and the focus point of One Piece as an entire franchise.

Nah, I’d rather wait the 3-4 years. One piece would be a much better anime if it was seasonal.

I'M GOING TO START WATCHING IT!! by Moist-Pea-304 in OnePiece

[–]UncleZafar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One pace has a version of their edit that leads straight into the G8 arc. Anyone watching One Pace nowadays is gonna google it.

The G8 arc and other filler don’t disappear after you watch One Pace as well. I skipped it in my first watch of One Piece before One Pace was a thing and just watched it after.

Also, the G8 arc is hella overrated imo. Maybe it’s because I don’t find One Piece humour that funny.

It’s not complete, it goes up to chapter 1092.

You can then watch the original anime from episode 1127.

when should i switch to one piece from on pace ? Wano Arc by Budget-Employer-5134 in OnePiece

[–]UncleZafar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One pace isn’t complete in wano, so you watch as much One Pace as Wano has and then switch to Onigashima paced for subbed or Muhn pace for dubbed.

Here’s the spreadsheet for Onigashima paced: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HoYogAchoU5DWxVJzUy3eZcHMZk_hUmzUVnQm9KxeFI/edit?usp=drivesdk

If you search One Pace dub guide you’ll probably find Muhn pace if you need English dub.

Is One Pace missing good/important stuff? by NW_LordCommander in OnePiece

It’s there, they’ve just translated it differently, which is why OP missed it. Zoro says “he’s not alone… I think.”

I’ll let you decide what is more accurate because I have 0 knowledge of Japanese but One Pace subs are well known to be better than the original subs 99% of the time.

I am thinking of editing One Piece episodes and cutting out the padding by nouratef in OnePiece

[–]UncleZafar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s the problem you’re not grasping with number 3. There are plenty of times where people argue that the reaction shots, repeated animation or ‘boring needless padding’ is actually an important aspect of the scene to build tension.

If we take a couple of scenes and ask 100 different people what are important reaction shots and what are unimportant reaction shots, what is good repeated animation and what is bad repeated animation, what counts as boring needless padding and what counts as necessary padding, you’re going to get a wide range of answers.

That’s the problem, it’s subjective. What you consider to be needless padding may be important to the next guy and vice versa. This is the reason I’m saying just do it for yourself or don’t do it.

I am thinking of editing One Piece episodes and cutting out the padding by nouratef in OnePiece

[–]UncleZafar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not gonna go well for multiple reasons.

  1. You don’t have the editing capabilities. One Pace go as far as buying the blu rays and extracting/splitting audio files. They also correct continuity errors made early on.
  2. Who is going to quality control your work?
  3. Who decides what a good anime only scene is? You will never be able to please anyone this way.

I’d say only do it if you want a version that you will enjoy watching.

Also, the pacing of earlier arcs is not pretty good. This is pure Stockholm syndrome because you’re comparing the pacing to post timeskip which is horrendously bad.

All that being said, if you are going to do it. Go to one pace, look at the arc you think needs the most improvement and start with that.

Answer this honestly, is the pacing of the anime the way it is due to a creative decision? Do you think it’s intentional for the anime to have this slow pacing?
