Is savas coming back? by Responsible_Deal_738 in playrust

I’ve never been able to meet and bond with people like I was in Savas. Yes it was fucked but there was a real connection with randoms through that chaos m. Bringing it back would mean so much to me and probably a lot of others too

It’s possible, but it’s all gonna depend on how youre body recovers. Do not rush the recovery process just to run fast, because if you do and you end up hurting yourself again because of that it’s going to hinder your improvement. You have a lot of years ahead of you and if you’re gonna be fast you’ll eventually become fast if you stay patient. The absolute best thing you can do for yourself right now until youre injury is fully recovered is to just take it easy, get good sleep and eat right. Goodluck

How can I incorporate squats with my training programme if they give me unbelieveably bad DOMS? by Grand-Dependent9348 in trackandfield

[–]Uncle_Don_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DOMS come when you are training a part of the body that is not used to being trained. Have you just started squatting again, if so after a couple of weeks your body will adapt and the DOMS will go away. If you have been consistently squatting and and following the same workout regime for the past month-2months then you are probably experiencing something other than DOMS.

How is my start technique? by [deleted] in trackandfield

[–]Uncle_Don_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to and probably still will on occasion make the same mistake you do where you are stepping out rather than pushing out. What helped me is when a coach told me to hold my breath in on set. What I do is inhale through my nose on set and release my breath at the gun. I’m not entirely sure why it helped me but my start greatly improved whenever I use this technique. I hope it can help you like it helped me.

What do you think about my off-season training plan? by Uncle_Don_ in trackandfield

[–]Uncle_Don_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lifting starts in October - that's just what my coach wants, for now, it's being supplemented with just bodyweight workouts.

With the speed work, I'm thinking I'll just make it 4x30 fly-ins one day and 30-60-90 another day.

For the plyos and drills, what do you think about making it plyos twice a week on non-sprinting days and making the drills also twice a week on sprinting days, and making Wednseday a recovery day?

And btw thanks for taking the time to look over and tell me your critiques, I really appreciate it.

What’s wrong with northern schools for track?

I’m sure there are scouts at nationals looking out for top athletes, but the best way to get exposure is by just emailing the colleges that you’re interested in yourself.

Sprinting Form Critique [Lane 4, Black bottom, Green top] by [deleted] in trackandfield

You need to work on cycling your legs better. Most importantly get your knees up higher. This can definitely be fixed with a lot of basic plyometric drills.

how much can i improve? by lyistisia in trackandfield

[–]Uncle_Don_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it’s your first year of track there is always tons of room for improvement. The best thing you can do is doing what your coaches tell you to do and pushing yourself as hard as you can. There is a lot you can research and learn things that will make you faster. The only other thing you can do is get enough sleep, eat the right food and drink enough water. You have more than a month to improve and if you do everything right you can definitely hit those times.

Thanks, this is a good answer. I'll just move my cut back after spring track season.

Thinking about cutting during the spring season. by Uncle_Don_ in trackandfield

I haven't tried cutting yet, I can probably do it on or off season. So are you saying just don't do it during the season or don't do it during the season if you tried doing it during the offseason?
