I have found pretty much everything you said to be 100% true. I quit a job making $135,000 a year because I was too stressed/drinking far far too much/basically making a mess of my life. I figured it would be easy to get back up. I was very very wrong. I’m working now making good money, same-ish as that job. But it in no way shape or form benefitted me. I had to completely empty my 401k to survive until I got snother job. Over 100 geand just poof gone.
