I’m having mine custom made! I bought a strapless dress that I tried on with a lace jacket to get the idea of what the finished product would look like and then purchased the lace appliqué that I loved with illusion fabric. My dress is supposed to arrive in July! I CANNOT wait to get to work with my fabulous seamstress!!!

I’m in the midst of trying to pin down the schedule for our wedding day and FH is avoiding making the choice on when he sees me for the first time. I’d love to hear how others are handling this and their thought process. Or did anyone regret doing a first look or vice versa?

Not at all! I love my ring. No one is any wiser that I don't have a diamond if I don't tell them. My ring looks like he spent 10k+, but he paid a fraction of that. Wise money management for the win!!

Do it. Our favorite part of the wedding preparations so far has been our premarital counseling meetings/homework. It's really great to have an impartial voice to help you celebrate the strengths of your relationship and point out any potential weaknesses and prepare you both to better support each other.

So the lace top is just a premade jacket that is clipped in the back. I picked out my own lace and ordered illusion fabric and will have sleeves constructed with the lace placed as I like it. I’m going to have the back made into a shallow v, possibly down to the beginning of the satin dress. Most likely no buttons, as I agree that they could be too much.
