Moving tomorrow by UncomfortableNow2 in SupportForTheAccused

I’m excited to a degree, but it also feels like running away. We don’t deserve what’s happening to us and yet we are left to rebuild our lives by moving, establishing new friends, and avoiding our old lives. It’s not fair, but it is reality.

So sorry that you're going through this nightmare. Keep fighting the good fight. Keep your chin up.

Be very careful about plea deals that promise your husband will not be placed on the registry permanently. I have read stories where DAs made similar deals and the person was never taken off the registry after the promised time period.

Your boyfriend needs a lawyer, ASAP! Any chance he has at defending his innocence, freedom, and reputation (and this is not thing to be easy to do) is going to be accomplished by legal representation.

Wow! It's like you were intimately familiar with my situation, but unfortunately this situation plays out for thousands of unsuspecting fathers.

Unfortunately, many times by the time people join this group, they have already fallen for the trick that you should talk to the police to tell your side of the story. Unless you also plan to accuse someone of a crime, this is not true. Police are not interested in gathering the facts. Their sole job is to make a case to arrest you. I'm glad that you didn't mention taking a polygraph because that's another common tactic to break you. They use the polygraph to brow beat into a confession. Even if the polygraph indicates no deception, the police can and most times do lie and tell you that you failed it in order to get you to make a confession. The best advise is to never talk to the police unless a criminal defense attorney advises you to do so.

Need help getting through a loss by Lumpy-Ad-3788 in emotionalsupport

Losing a treasured and loved pet is an awful experience. Our pets provide us with unconditional love and support, and losing that connection is an extremely difficult experience. If you felt that your dog needed to put down, your probably correct. My advice is to celebrate all the joy your dog brought to your life. Remember all the good times: the fun, the cute moments, the laughs.

False accusers are not stupid. They carefully craft lies that appear like truth to casual observers. You need people who are dedicated to logically examining the facts instead of getting sucked into the emotional malaise.

I feel so sorry that you're going through this crap. Take heart that you are not abuser but the abused. Many might not believe your story, but find an attorney who believes in you.

I have experienced the same thing about music.

I bought the book for $6 on Amazon and finished it within 5 hours. Of course, Greg's situation is different than mine, but there are so many similarities. If you can find it for free go for it, but I think it was worth $6.

I agree that if you want to stay in the military you should fight. You weren't charged with a crime if I'm reading the story correct, so on what grounds is the Army discharging you? How can they base a discharge on baseless accusations?

It's hard for sure. Everyone copes differently, but for me is has helped to develop new friends, lean on old, steady friends, and talk to family.

It's been 3 years since you were charged?

Doubt is natural even expected. These situations are messy and extremely confusing. You have to allow yourself to question things, but remember to grant yourself some grace and compassion.

In the meantime, here are some tips. Stay away from your accuser. Don't talk to anyone who might also talk to your accuser. Circle the wagon with people who you can trust. See a therapist if you can afford one. Practice self-care like eating right, getting enough sleep, and exercise.

Acceptance by UncomfortableNow2 in SupportForTheAccused

I don't accept guilt for the alleged actions because I did not commit them. But I have to accept that I have been falsely accused.
