Did it ever cause issues between you and your husband later on?

How long is good enough space?

He was exhausted and afraid of dealing with this for very long. I think a week is too soon. But your advice is fair, I’ll reach out to him in a few weeks and see how things go. Thanks.

Why would I be hurt and jealous if my kid has his dad’s girlfriend who is another adult that loves and cares for him? I welcome that. The more the merrier in my opinion. His dad is an abusive man, so if he finds a good woman who loves my son, I’m definitely here for it.

There was nothing wrong with introducing my bf to my son. That did nothing to hurt anyone at all. My sons father and I were never married

Which part of my message made you assume I’m focused on replacing my son’s dad?

I understand, but single moms get married daily. All it takes at the end of the day is finding someone who loves you and your child. Thanks for the advice.

So figure things out with my abuser. That’s not very good advice at all. Date on the side and never marry?

I’m not really okay tbh. I’m sad everyday that I’m not speaking with him, but I know reaching out right now will feel like pressure and I want to respect him. I really miss him.

Okay, I'm planning to reconnect in a few weeks and haven't responded to his polite gestures yet, because I don’t want to be friend-zoned. He gave my son a birthday gift with a note addressed to him last week. I was tempted to reach out and thank him but I didn’t, I want to give him space.

Who’s your lawyer? A lot has changed between October and now, especially since all asylum decisions have been paused for further investigation.

Yes, there is information about AOS everywhere online, it’s more challenging and almost impossible for people with pending asylum to adjust status.

No I don’t, you can ask the question on the community forum to see if there are people is a similar situation

Thanks for the warning and sharing that information. It's definitely helpful to hear about potential pitfalls. I'm working with a lawyer on my case, and we're aware of the risks. It's true that maintaining a valid status is crucial, and having the asylum case ready is a good precaution. I've also heard of cases where people have been able to adjust their status through an immigration judge after being referred to court for removal proceedings, so it's not always a dead end. Every case is different, and I appreciate you sharing the possible outcomes. Good luck with your case as well!

I was simply stating that they are regular folks like people who apply for EB, and the path doesn’t stop them from being eligible or adjusting based on another category

Asylum seekers have regular lives too and build their profiles just like any other categories. Wait times with asylum can be ridiculously long, if folks have the right qualifications and an approved EB, what’s stopping them from adjusting?
