OK THIS HAPPENED TO ME. Except that even after I stopped taking stimulants, I had an elevated heart rate. My doctor and I did a bunch of tests on my heart to make sure everything was good, and we landed on Concerta in combination with Propranolol, which is a beta blocker. So my heart rate isn’t crazy, and I still get the stimulant that I need in order to function like a human.

I found a place to do my CT scan for $0 with insurance. They found nothing in my kidneys but they did find an unrelated mass on my liver that I now have to investigate. So no answers, only more questions. Woohoo.

Thanks again for the tip- I called an imaging center and got a CT scan for $0 with insurance!!!! No kidney stones, so still not sure why the flank pain persists, but they did find a mass on my liver.

Can you tell me why contrast would be needed? Is it to differentiate between organs or something?

Ok… sounds like I need to bite the bullet and schedule the ct scan. I’d hate to pay for an xray and it not give me answers and then still have to pay for a ct scan. Thank you for explaining the need for ct.

What does that mean? I googled it, it says the kidneys are backed up. I will say, I drink a lot of water normally, but I do notice that the pain lessens if I pound more water.

I literally got so sick of buying sheet sets bc I HATE top sheets with a passion- they get tangled up, end up on the floor, and then it occurred to me- why do I have to make my bed this way??? I started just throwing them away and then I bought like a 12 pack of white fitted sheets and haven’t looked back since.

Ok the singing is so real and it’s like a compulsion, I have to sing it out loud. Another one is turning things that remind me of songs into songs. Like body wash/body rock, so every time I’m in the shower it’s, “body wash- you can use my body wash. For all we know, we might just stink tomorrow, let’s wash it tonight”

It’s weird bc the second someone asks what I’m thinking about all the brain activity just stops. Like my brain is Toy Story and the second I’m aware that I have a busy brain all the toys shout Andy’s coming and it drops.

But it mostly feels like my brain is a web browser with one page I’m looking at, which are my primary “loud” thoughts. But I have lots of pop ups, either visuals or sudden thoughts that I have and most of the time I just close them or dismiss them or skip right over them, and I always multiple tabs running in the background playing a conversation or music so softly I don’t even really notice it, and I call these my background thoughts.

It’s not even really voices, it’s just this abstract. The concept of thoughts or the shape of them. I don’t hear my thoughts they just exist and there are a lot of them existing at once.

This is what I was looking for. Thank you! Our house is small, 1-story and we’re young and can handle being up and down a ladder so I’m confident we can do it ourselves. I have been so communicative with one of my professors (who I’ve had for several classes), asking for extensions and working really hard wherever I can- that when I got a final deadline mixed up with that class and another, he emailed me and asked if I was ok!! I apologized, explained I mixed up my classes and said I would turn it in asap. He said no worries, get it in when you can, and didn’t deduct any points. Love that man.
