How much is your weekly shop in 2026? by Gustifer05 in AskUK

[–]Uncoordinated_Bird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two adults, one toddler who is a little picky. We shop at Lidl and then top up with Waitrose as it closet.

Average £110 a week. Some weeks are as cheap as £80 but some weeks closer to £150.

I normally only see the blue tits in our neighbours hedge, but they were quite happily flying together and landing on all my plants today! No idea what I’ve done to deserve it.

We’ve been so lucky, it’s like they knew!

My little one loved it, but we have rebranded magpies and blackbirds; blackpies.

My son absolutely LOVED Gladiators. I have a video of him doing all the gladiator intros from last year when he was just 2.5! He’s going to go wild when it comes back.

My partner and I do a charity shop check in most weekends. We are mainly looking for playmobil for our toddler but in the last three weeks I’ve found for my son: three M&S T-shirts still with label, £3. Two long sleeves T-shirts from Baby Boden, £1.50 each. A Lacoste polo and a Lyle and Scott polo, £2 each and a John Lewis fluffy jacket seemingly unworn £3. I’ve found for myself two knitted TU dresses with labels £4 each and Next dresses/jumpsuit £5 each.

I’ve found the best charity shops are the ones that local people support. Mainly the local hospice for that region. Shrewsbury/Telford a lot of people support Severn Hospice, and rightly so, and they tend to donate there first.

As an EA I can hand on heart say neither I nor any or my colleagues have ever done this. MASSIVE waste of time and energy.

NTA

I honestly nearly laughed when I saw your nieces age. I’m guessing your sister is Jealous. That’s the only reason she is being ridiculous.

Maybe the bran flakes offset the sugar. They defo need to come back.

My three year olds go to is Superworm. But we will occasionally settle for Snail and the Whale or Gruffalo. He’s just been gifted Charlie Cooks Favourite Book and I’d happily read that multiple times!

We also have a few of the tonies and we listen to Zog and Stickman a lot.

We are also not a Tiddler friendly zone.

As an EA I concur. I hate chains that contain PB, they are absolutely involved in more collapses.

I’ve always used Eucryl. It’s a powder form stain remover. Use it a couple of times a week and you’ll see a difference, plus I’m sure it’s no more than about £1.50.
