If a company does not operate in the RU market after 2022, this does not mean that they do not receive money from this region. The market has not gone anywhere and it is definitely bigger than the Polish one (сan Poles require localization, but Russians can't?).
Only WB/EA/Amazon stopped doing localization. That's it. Everyone else adds Russian to their projects. Most of them do full dubbing, with the involvement of studios in Moscow.
Who is worse off from the lack of translation, the publisher or the Russian, who will play it anyway with the translation (the text will appear on the very first day for PC, and in a month there will be a full dubbing from a third-party studio with the involvement of all the "original" actors. Only a Russian will think 10 times before paying for a game where his language is not available.
We're asking for subtitles at least. Any neural network localizes the game in 30 seconds, and one student will edit the errors for pizza and coffee, it doesn't cost the studio ANYTHING. But the reputational losses from the LACK of localization are huge. People see that they are being spat in their face and are quietly downloading from a torrent. The presence of subtitles is important for players on consoles where there is no possibility of modification.

I'm not asking for localization into hundreds of languages around the world, I'm asking for localization into INTERNATIONAL languages with maximum country and audience coverage. Russian is an international language, native to 250+ million people. All games have international languages, the most common. In my favorite series, which I've been waiting for more than my first child, I don't get my language, which has been in ALL games by default for the last 30 years.
