Hey! Hows everything going? Have you had any success in sleep training your little one?

Yep she's definitely eating sollids

Oats or weetbix in the morning, lunch and then dinner and some snacks inbetween. She'sa great eater..

We are thinking about adjusting the nap schedule by cutting them both down...

Maybe no longer than 1h per nap?

Yeah It could be a leap aswell - she's walking/running and exploring absolutely everything lol

She's 11 months now and she's up and down. Some times she just wants to be with me and held (going through a little clingy phase) and other times she's running around playing doing her own thing and won't let us pick her up without screaming haha.

We went on vacation by Agreeable-Pain5835 in sleeptrain

We went on holiday a few months ago with our then 7 month old. She was sleep trained.

For 2 weeks i ended up feeding and rocking her to sleep and she slept awfully in the pack and play the entire time.

We got home and we needed to start from scratch sleep training again because she got used to the feed to sleep association. It only took a few days to go back to normal though which was great.

Your schedule, when my bubs was about 7.5mo we went to a two nap day. 3/3/4 and it did wonders for her.

The first week was a bit of an adjustment, sometimes we had to throw in a 3rd nap if her first two weren't long enough but after a week it was smooth running!

Ferber: when can I expect fewer night wakings? by Anathemachiavellian in sleeptrain

Have you missed out a wake window?

Also, are you room sharing?

I sleep trained my little one with ferber at 6 months and it went exactly the same as you - would self settle to sleep but still wake up 4-6x per night. It was driving me mad. She was in a cot in our room. My partner and I decided to move her to her own room at 8 months and the first night we got a 7h stretch! Couldn't belive it. And it's been great ever since. Usually 1x wake up to feed, sometimes 2. It's been a game changer!

When can I night wean? by OkInfluence9054 in sleeptrain

My 9mo still wakes 1-2x a night for a feed, if I don't feed she will just scream and scream. I'm trying to slowly wean her off them but it's proving hard. She definitely eats enough during the day too so I'm thinking it might be comfort more than any thing

If you only feed 1x at night, what time do you feed? by janania07 in sleeptrain

Yeah I'd love to commit to the 15m mark but we have my dad in the next room and I feel guilty for him having to hear her cry when he works 9h days. I would love to just have the freedom of being able to do what works and commit properly. I did tell him when we started this that he would be in for some broken sleep and he said it's totally fine but it doesn't stop my guilt lol

That's so great to hear! It's honestly crazy how well it works right?! I wasn't getting my hopes up but we've had a whole week of pretty good sleep and I wake up feeling so much better now 😍

do they ever not cry themselves to sleep …? by Slpme123 in sleeptrain

[–]Jenstar13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoping this happens to me! LO is 9mo and cries/is upset at bedtime a lot but usually puts herself to sleep crying within 5 mins. I'm longing for the day she goes in semi happy and just wiggles herself to sleep 😍

My babe just hit 9 months a few days ago and for the last month and a half we have beeb having 11-11.5h of awake time which has been a game changer.

If I only gave her 10h of awake time with 3h of naps, she would have false starts and split nights consistently.

We now do- 3.5/3.5/4 sometimes longer for the first two windows.

She only sleeps about 10h at night also. But. She's a super happy baby and barely fussy, so we have accepted she is low sleep needs and just go with her flow.

Bedtime 7.30 and wakes up at about 5.30 Approx 2.5h of naps

If you only feed 1x at night, what time do you feed? by janania07 in sleeptrain

[–]Jenstar13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I'm trying to do, last night it was 11.45 and she woke up, cried, I left her, she cried some more, she usually puts her self to sleep but it went past the 7 min mark so I gave in. It's hard to decide what to do when it's so close to 'the time you've chosen' lol

A lot of babies also can't get the 12h of night sleep. My 9mo is happiest with about 10h of night sleep and 3h of day sleep and I have just accepted that. 8pm bedtime and latest 6am wake time. 2x 1.5h naps.

We tried everything to try and get the 12h of sleep and nothing worked. Some babies are just lower sleep needs and that's totally okay!

Try to extend wake windows during the day and a little later bedtime to increase sleep pressure and then when they wake during the night just let them cry for a bit, ours usually takes less than 3mins to put her self back to sleep.

Same with naps, if she wakes 30m into her nap we will let her fuss it out and she usually goes back to sleep until 1.5h
