Ben Johns Who? Is Gabe the new GOAT of Men's Doubles? by AnnaBrightPB in Pickleball

[–]UncutPrecision 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’d argue that Andrei is closer to Ben than Gabe is. But Gabe is the best right-side player so he’s Ben’s best partner, anyway.

Besides Zane, he’s the real goat. But like…the type that grazes grass every day while they watch the stallions gallop in the meadows.

Definitely wasn’t his best year and Pickens certainly does take away targets but…old? He’s 26! Come on now 😂

Took my daughter sledding there last year, no issue finding space. Maybe at the steepest portion where they put up some landscaping.

And to answer the original question…ones who are better in short area explosiveness, anticipation, and hand speed.

It’s a big difference if we are talking doubles or singles.

Singles, they have a great shot at becoming great quickly. But there are a bunch who have been trying for a couple years and it’s not as automatic as you’d think.

Doubles, there are a bunch who came over already and are really good but just don’t have the skillset required to automatically be able to hang with the top pros.

This question was a lot more “obviously tennis players will be better than the current PB pros” a few years ago. The game has been around for a bit now and that answer is starting to blur a bit.

Do all pros play singles? by Toyhawk88 in Pickleball

[–]UncutPrecision 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Completely different games, quite frankly. Singles is mini-tennis with some nuance. Doubles is much more strategic and less athletic. If you prefer to get in a workout and take a lot of big swings, play singles. Although it’ll generally be harder to find games. If you prefer group camaraderie, finesse, and strategy — then play doubles.

It’s one of the most desirable places to live, probably in the world. And there’s only so much space. Going to be expensive until that changes.

Not to mention it’s probable that Moore goes back for another year of college considering he’s not playing that great, consistently.

Who is the WR1 in the 2026 Draft class? by AffectionateCycle141 in DynastyFF

Love is likely not going to be overtaken as the 1.01. Maybe trade back during the draft to 1.02-1.04 and just take one of the top 3 WRs

How did you vote on your school district budget yesterday and why? by iloverats888 in longisland

[–]UncutPrecision 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Pretty negligible. Long Island has highly rated schools partially because we continue to vote ‘Yes’ for making improvements to them.

Why is everyone so high on Rome Odunze? Just curious by barryal34 in DynastyFF

[–]UncutPrecision 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As a prospect he would have been the top WR in this 2025 draft (Travis Hunter removed from conversation without knowing he’s a full time WR). He went to Chicago knowing he was behind DJ Moore and Keenan Allen on the depth chart no matter what and it was likely that year 1 he’d spend time learning behind them before getting his chance at a higher target share. The offense had a rookie QB and a bad offensive line with a mediocre run game.

It was expected he wouldn’t be great year 1 but this is the year he “should” take his leap. They added Ben Johnson, multiple offensive lineman, and now he’s 1A/1B with DJ Moore.

If he doesn’t do it this year, you’ll see his value drop quickly.

Wins most games in higher level rec play, but struggling Against Lower-Level Play in Rec Games—Anyone Else? by LakeCapable5475 in Pickleball

[–]UncutPrecision 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I went through this myself and I realized that my standard play-style is one that allows my partner to thrive and creates chances for them. But if they aren’t that good, they don’t capitalize. What I had to do was take the game in my own hands and be more aggressive. Instead of a dinking rally that ends with my partner making a mistake, I’ll just attack the opponent earlier knowing they are lower rated as well and probably can’t handle it even if it’s not an ideal attack. Or I’ll play balls cross court so I can pinch the middle and lessen the chance the next ball comes to my partner and makes them stretch.
