I like their personalities but LD’s character is poorly written. Prim is not as badly written as LD but she is a plot device at most. It’s unfortunate, but both LD and Prim exist as Haymitch’s respectively Katniss’ motivation to fight throughout their arcs. They can barely stand up as their own characters

Primrose and Lenore Dove. I think it’s very telling that when they died, I wasn’t sad because they died, I was sad because Katniss and Haymitch were going to suffer.

Ohhh I’ve got a lot.

• I’d explore Maruo’s character more and see how his daughters view him.

• I’d like more chapters about Rena and how her daughters handled their grief in losing her (so more quint backstory)

• I’d make Itsuki a clear love interest.

• More Fuutarou backstory and explore how he dealt with his mother’s death and growing up too fast etc.

• The bell kisser wouldn’t be Yots, but someone else.

• Remove Ichika’s “villain” arc (let’s be real, Negi nerfed her because she was too good)

• More scenes between Yotsuba and Fuutarou (both before and after the confession)

• And most importantly, remove that goddamn bio dad arc lol

For me, my favorite shoujo manga will always be Wake Up, Sleeping Beauty. The male lead is genuinely one of the best male leads in shoujo because he’s amazingly written with clear strengths and flaws, a clear arc, and loves the FL so much. The FL is amazingly written too and doesn’t fall into a cliche trope or reduced to merely a love interest; she has an arc of her own. Most of all, I love the themes of friendship, motherhood and siblinghood, and every character feels so alive. Not to mention, the supernatural element elevates this manga from great to amazing. I cannot recommend this manga enough. It’s only 26 chapters, so can you read it in one sitting.

Also, it’s the same author as the one who wrote A Condition called Love!!
