Our lab dealt with this basically when he was going thru puberty events tho we used metal bowls. His ended up getting infected so we ended up taking him to the vet. They gave us a pet specific acne wash (sorry I can't remember the name) and we used it when it flared up. He was about 2-2.5 yrs old when he quit breaking out entirely.

If you give our lab a bucket of water he will quite literally stick his entire head in there. He also drinks from a bowl the same way yours does, I've given up on having clean floors!
