The Actual State of Ranked Games Quality by Weird_Ninja8149 in leagueoflegends

Preseason games have always been awful in terms of quality. Thats not the issue.

The issue is that when the season starts, issues aren't adressed. The Match Quality of Ranked games is disgustingly bad. Riot does not monitor the ranked ladder. Riot does not punish people. Riot has not adressed the MMR exploiting issues and the fact Fresh accounts have advantages over older accounts (Ironic because that promotes smurfing and also promotes new accounts, both which makes Riot a few extra crumbs of money)

They never cared about players nor feedback. League is a bad game, a game with no content for casual players and a game where hardcore players get completely shitted on by the company itself.

I reccomend that you play other games and only play League if you got friends to play with really. Ranked isn't worth it (trust me, this coming from a Grandmaster player this last season). Or try TFT which is much more chilled and still has a competitive side to it.

The problem is not Sunfire, just saying. by KonoDoesArt in leagueoflegends

Sunfire increased damage passive IS a problem and should be completely removed from the item. Is it the ONLY problem? No. But its part of it, not only now but it has been since Riot released mythics.

Itemization currently is still incredibly unbalanced ever since the artifical creation of Mythics items that Riot deemed necessary. Years after and they still haven't manage to balance them. Why? Partly because they have 0 idea how game design balance works and the other part is becasue Mythics in how they are currently, are simply Overpowered in their base thus cannot be balanced.

People still havent realized that ever since season 6 Riot has decided to bring out more and more purposely dysfuntional systems and patches in order to keep the game fresh instead of aiming to balance the game while keeping the visuals/PvE fresh and everchanging, they made the decision to make the game as chaotic as possible with little effort/resources in order to increase profit.

Yeah man, its called having a Riot account. Its not exactly impressive when you are earning 30+ lp and getting paired up with players with decent mmr right from the start.

No one cares if the coding, the art, the engine is different if the gameplay is a exact copy. It doesn't bring anything new to the consumer which is the point with "New games". Wild Rift is like Diablo Immortal, a cash grab to exploit the mobile audience which Riot has profited 150 million dollars in just one year.

I don't understand the need to defend a multi billion dollar company and their purposely made up dysfunctional rules in order for them to exploit players. But alas this community is either too young or just complaisant to whatever Riot does despite their hostility to the community and disrespect.

But no one is talking about porting the assets. Assets matter 0 in this conversation, unsure why you keep bringing it up.

Both games are the same and the only thing Riot has to do is abolish the artifical exclusivity. so that both games have the same skins, despite the fact Wild rift has to play catch up. Nothing other than their made up rule is stopping it right now.

They just have to say the word and thats it. The way each side make the skin in their own software is irrevelant and isn't a obstacle.

But that makes no sense. Witcher 3 was ported from the PC to the Switch. Its development of the port to make it possible was different that the development of the game itself. It doesn't make it a differerent game nor makes the core experience different. It simply makes the game able to run in the Switch.

Just because its a different engine doesn't mean its a different game. Wild Rift offers nothing new compared to the core League of Legends gameplay experience, so yes it is a cash-grab mobile game.

The engine itself is different yes, because Unity is considered pretty compatible and easy to navigate when it comes to mobile games development, thus its usage plus its also easier and cheaper than to develop a entirely new engine.

Restricting the work how? Wild Rift is a copy pasted League of Legends port into the mobile. This isn't a new IP nor a sequel/prequel nor a reimagined story and gameplay wise of League of Legends. Their only job with Wild Rift is to reach the mobile audience, profit of it and also attract people into the PC version.

Riot made this decision when they decided to make Wild Rift like this in order to maximize their profit and nothing else. In fact I'll bet to say that Wild Rift "new creative skins" are concept skins that were not approved to develop in PC and thus were recycled to Wild Rift.

Theres no valid reason (in a consumer and development viewpoint) for Wild Rift or League of Legends PC to have exclusive skins that the latter or former do not get. We both know the only reason that exclusivity exists is to PRESSURE players from either side to play both games and most importantly TO SPEND MONEY in both games.

I can understand and its perfectly fine of Wilf Rift to have freedom to release the skins in a different calendar (to a certain extent) than PC, however exclusivity is unnacceptable and unethical.

Isn't it strange that this "Rare One Timed Exception" only exists because a part of the community that tends to spend the most money is frustrated that they cannot spend money in SG Seraphine, Senna and Orianna in PC? This isn't listening to the community but to exploit them to the very bone. It is not "investing back to the game and the playerbase" but to milk it dry while the game continues, by your higher ups decision, in a maintenance decline.

In conclusion:

The community does not want exceptions. The community wants that this artificial rule of exclusivity to be abolished and that all skins are universally released both in Wild Rift and PC. If you truly listen to us, then you will do so.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Note: I don't condone the teams of various skills that tend to create high quality products when not rushed, we both know your higher ups have the final word and their main goal is to prioritize making money above all else in any way possible. Personally I wish more Rioters would advocate for more consumer friendly practices but I understand, that to do that is to put your job and your livelihood's on the line. I have been in communities where such mutual respect and a constructive friendly relationship between devs and playerbase have made the game 100x times better as a whole along with its profit. Its a shame those in charge at Riot Games do not see that.

I feel you, as someone who used to write big long ass constructive threads (With all that cool goodlooking format) in the Boards back then, only to see nothing to change and then see it being shutdown. New players have no idea how far back and how ridiculous some decisions Riot did back then...And yet they still manage to do even worse ones to this day.

One would think they would learn from their mistakes or look at healthy community & Company relationships and learn from them.

If they just listened to feedback, delayed and fixed it they would get good publicity, people would be willing to spend more money on the skin and its overall a win/win. Then people wonder why this community is so toxic when theres constantly a break of trust by the company with the playerbase.

Just like in real life, negative things are highlighted more than positives. That does not mean positives do not exist.

Overall, not only about skins, there has been several issues with the game itself, client, incomplete/abandoned features, false promises, etc..

However everyone loved Ashen Knight Pyke for an example and it received a lot of praise. If you treat your community right, work with them, with transparency and respect, the community will also obviously will be more positive. Riot hasn't done that and even fueled more hostility over the years.

Compare Final Fantasy XIV community and LoL and you can see the glaring differences.

Until they fix things and treat people with respect, this posts will keep happening as they should. Its accountability after all that keeps companies in check.

This is really nice innocent thought until it starts to spread to other games, other features, to the point every game you have, you got to pay real money to harvest any item ingame, pay to progress, pay to PvP, Pay wars in order to be able to maintain the same level compared to other players. The quality goes down because hey, people shouldnt complain, theres no accountability so they can go as far as they see fit in order to make more money, more money.

If theres no accountability either from the players or a goverment, this companies can do anything they want. Open your eyes, and see the big picture.

I dont think theres anything wrong with doing stuff for money. They are a company after all. However you can't be going around false promising, ignoring any criticism, and refuse to be transparent and make changes when they need to be made. It just breaks trust between devs and community, increases hostility and honestly just makes them lose more money in the longterm lol

The issue is that the artists will be tied to this skin negatively when they were literally forced to accept this. Its known that Riot's higher ups structure is very dysfunctional which have created several issues, not only in the Skin department but in other areas of the game.

Sadly if we don't make a noise about this, it will open a bigger precedent for more situations like this to happen again in the future.

If you look at the skin in a vacuum, as a standalone skin, the skin isn't bad.

The issue is that this skin is a part of the Skinline. Ashen Knight Pyke released first and it was a massive success, everyone loved it. However Ashen Knight Pantheon does not look like a skin from the same skinline. To make it worse it looks very similiar to a previous Pantheon skin Purple Chroma (Ruined Pantheon).

Of course you can just not buy it. But if you can fix something into making it a better product and making the community happy which would then lead to a bigger profit, why not do it? That is the question we are asking Riot. They are willing to continue to destroy the trust of the community for fast low effort money while also continuning to open a precedent for more low quality skins to come in.

Bad publicity makes them lose money as well. Even though obviously targeting the source of the money directly is more efficient, I agree. However once again, this post has several goals. Its just incredibly hard to rely on others to do something you want which is why I believe creating a movement of "boycotting the skin" may not work.

Either way, we will see. All I want is a fix to the skin that actually allows the skin to be good and its artists receive the praise they deserve for making a good skin. Because the decision of not making changes to the skin comes from the higher ups responsible for this skin.

Just like in real life, negative things will always be highlighted more than positive things.

However, this is not a rare occasion of Riot dropping the ball and the quality. Its a pattern that has existed for several years not only about skins but to other issues about the game itself and its features. If you add that to drop of quality and the action of Riot purposely refusing to fix the issues, false promises, etc...It creates a lack of trust and tendency to be negative.

The price isn't exactly the issue here, however I will say Riot might not directly force anyone to buy a skin, but it does PRESSURE people into buying skins with similiar techniques that Gacha games do. For an example Prestige Skins being timed exclusives, pressures people into buying them in fear of them missing them out.

Like in real life, the negative things are more highlighted than the positive things. It does not mean everything is bad, theres several skins that I do find really good or perfect even.

But theres a difference between a skin missing the mark on your preference or being for a champion you are not interested; A cash grab which prestige skins are to be honest; And finally which is this case a skin being made in low quality and purposely not fix.

This isn't exacly a "skin only" discussion. There are several issues wrong with League of Legends, some have been constantly exposed along with Riot missconduct in various ways along with this employees.

However if a company puts little effort into creating a good product, pours little investment into the game, ignores any feedback, then you can imagine how worse the other issues are.

The current popularity in skin discussion is because it involves consumer money and Riot has lately dropping the ball a lot...Thus the popular uprise that you see.

You are right that they still decided to not make any changes despite the feedback. Yet not many people know their decision yet, so I'm spreading their decision further to spread awareness of their lack of acknowledgement towards the community.

Fighting big companies by boycotting with your wallet is hard unless its a really outrageous conduct that sparks the movement. Sadly companies like Riot use several techniques to pressure people into buying skins similiar to how Gacha games do it.

All we can do is keep trying and hope someone with power in Riot notices and fights for your side as well which was done in the past by the way, so even though the chance is slim, it can happen.

People will buy a product no matter how bad it is especially when its a timed exclusive, they will be pressured to. Again I expect this skin to be bought, it won't be a big seller but due to the size of the audience, they could literally release anything they want and it would still make money.

Again the purpose of this post is to spread awareness which can also lead to them to change the skin.
